Charles Gerhardt (United States Army Officer)
Brigadier General Charles Gerhardt (March 19, 1863 – June 7, 1957) was a United States Army officer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He served in several conflicts, including the Sioux Wars and World War I. He is the father of Charles H. Gerhardt, who also served as an army general. Military career Gerhardt was born in Baltimore on March 19, 1863, to a family that had immigrated from Hesse in the early 1800s. He graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, New York, in June 1887. United States Military Academy
The United States Military Academy (USMA), also known metonymically as West Point or simply as Army, is a United States service academy in West Point, New York. It was originally established as a fort, since it sits on strategic high ground overlooking the Hudson River with a scenic view, north of New York City. It is the oldest of the five American service academies and educates cadets for commissioning into the United States Army. The academy was founded in 1802, one year after President Thomas Jefferson directed that plans be set in motion to establish it. Marcus Daniel Cronin
Marcus Daniel Cronin (9 January 1865 – 12 August 1936) was a United States military officer. He served in a number of conflicts, including the Spanish–American War, Philippine–American War and World War I. Early life and education Cronin was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on 9 January 1865. He attended College of the Holy Cross, then began attendance at the United States Military Academy, from which he graduated in 1887; his classmates included future Major General George O. Squier, and his attendance was concurrent with that of future generals John Pershing and Peyton March. Later, Cronin attended the Army War College and graduated in 1911. Frank Herman Albright
Frank Herman Albright (August 2, 1865 – July 21, 1940) was a career officer in the United States Army. A veteran of the Spanish–American War, Philippine–American War, World War I, he attained the rank of brigadier general, and was most notable for his First World War command of the 151st Infantry Brigade and the 56th Infantry Brigade. Early life Albright was born in Ottawa, Ohio on August 2, 1865, the son of William I. Albright and Mary (Shierlow) Albright. He entered the United States Military Academy and graduated 64th of 64 in the class of 1887. Herman Hall (June 6, 1864 – September 6, 1928) was a United States Army officer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He served in several conflicts, including World War I. Biography Hall was born on June 6, 1864, in Carthage, Illinois. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1887. Hall was commissioned into the 4th Infantry Regiment. James Theodore Dean
James Theodore Dean (May 12, 1865 – June 15, 1939) was a United States Army officer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Biography Dean was born on May 12, 1865, in Ironton, Ohio. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1887. Commissioned in the 3rd Infantry Division, Dean frequently worked in the area of ordnance. Dean served as an aide to Major General John R. Brooke between 1893 and 1895 and again from 1899 to 1902. During the Spanish–American War, he served as the Chief Ordnance Officer in Cuba and Puerto Rico. After returning to the U.S., he served in the District of Alaska from 1906 to 1908.
