Charles Diebold
Charles "Carl" Diebold (October 24, 1824 – March 5, 1894) was a German Americans, German-American industrialist who was the founder of Diebold. Carl Diebold was also a safe maker and a locksmith. Life Charles Diebold (Carl "Charles" Diebold) was born in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Rosenberg, Bavaria, Germany on October 24, 1824 to Bernhardt Diebold and Mary Diebold. Nothing is known about his early life or his education. At the 1893 fourth of July Celebration at Meyer's Lake Canton, Ohio Carl entered his Mule "Dick" into a race and finished in third place. Diebold Diebold founded Diebold Bahmann in 1859 as a manufacturer of safes and vaults in Cincinnati, Ohio. Charles gave his company a good reputation after Great Chicago Fire, The Great Chicago Fire in 1871 which leveled most of the city. North Canton
North Canton is a city in central Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 17,842 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Canton–Massillon metropolitan area. History In 1831, the Community of North Canton first began as the Village of New Berlin. Residents were primarily of German descent. William H. “Boss” Hoover moved his tannery business from the family farm to the center of the North Canton village in 1873. In 1908, Hoover began manufacturing vacuum cleaners. During World War I, it became unfashionable to be associated with anything German so in 1918, the community changed the name of the village to North Canton. The Hoover Company became the world's largest manufacturer of vacuum cleaners in 1933. The North Canton Jaycees were formed in 1951. In 2007, the Hoover Company officially shut down. Manuel González Flores
Manuel del Refugio González Flores (18 June 1833 – 8 May 1893) was a Mexican military general and liberal politician who served as the 35th President of Mexico from 1880 to 1884. Before initiating his presidential career, González played important roles in the Mexican–American War as a lieutenant, and later in the Reform War as general on the conservative side. In the French intervention in Mexico, González fought for the Mexican Republic under the command of General Porfirio Díaz.
