Charles Charlemont
Charles Charlemont (born Louis Charles Pilet; 21 November 1862, in Paris – 31 May 1942, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye) was a French boxing master and trainer. He is the son of Joseph Charlemont Joseph Charlemont (born 1839 in Lesdain, France - died 1918) was a French savate and Canne de combat teacher. Saint-Germain-en-Laye () is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris, from the centre of Paris. After he had fought Hubert Lecour (who was Charles Lecour's brother and a savate instructor himself), Joseph was considered one of the best competitors within French boxing. He gained recognition by taking on representatives of other schools and different styles. His fighting style and own teachings and developments were built on the modern version of savate as promoted by Charles Lecour. Pierre Baruzy
Pierre Baruzy (Amiens, 19 May 1897 – Paris, 17 December 1994) was a manager and French boxing champion. Biography Of Italian origin, a descendant of a noble Venetian family, Pierre Barozzi (in French spelled Baruzy), entered the French boxing academy at the age of thirteen, where he was a pupil of Charles Charlemont and was named eleven times French champion of the weightlifting. He participated in the 1924 Summer Olympics, the French Box is included for the first time in the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. In 1930 he became president of the Académie de Boxe Française and in 1937 the last French Championship was held (until its rebirth in 1966) during which he obtained the title of Champion in all categories, beating middle-weight boxer and heavy.
