Charhi Railway Station is a station on the Koderma–Hazaribagh–Barkakana line in Churchu (community development block), Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand serving Charhi and nearby areas. Charhi is a census town in the Churchu CD block in the Hazaribagh Sadar subdivision of the Hazaribagh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Geography Location Charhi is located at . Area overview Hazaribagh district is a plateau area and forests occupy around about 45% of the total area. It is a predominantly rural area with 92.34% of the population living in rural areas against 7.66% in the urban areas. There are many census towns in the district, as can be seen in the map alongside. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people but with the extension of coal mines, particularly in the southern part of the district, employment in coal mines is increasing. Hazaribagh District
Hazaribagh district is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state, India and the district headquarter located in Hazaribagh town. It is currently a part of the Red Corridor. Etymology The district is named after its headquarters, the town of Hazaribagh. The name, Hazaribagh consists of two Persian words, ''hazar'' meaning "one thousand", and ''bagh'' meaning "garden" - so, the literal meaning of Hazaribagh is 'a city of one thousand gardens'. According to Sir John Houlton, a veteran British administrator, the town takes its name from the small villages of Okni and Hazari – shown in old maps as Ocunhazry. Churchu is a community development block (CD block) that forms an administrative division in the Hazaribagh Sadar subdivision of the Hazaribagh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Overview Hazaribagh district is spread over a part of the Chota Nagpur Plateau. The central plateau, averaging a height of , occupies the central part of the district. On all sides, except on the western side, it is surrounded by the lower plateau, averaging a height of , the surface being undulating. In the north and the north-west the lower plateau forms a fairly level tableland till the ghats, when the height drops to about and slopes down gradually. Syed Ahmad
Sir Syed Ahmad Khan KCSI (17 October 1817 – 27 March 1898; also Sayyid Ahmad Khan) was an Indian Muslim reformer, philosopher, and educationist in nineteenth-century British India. Though initially espousing Hindu-Muslim unity, he became the pioneer of Muslim nationalism in India and is widely credited as the father of the two-nation theory, which formed the basis of the Pakistan movement. Born into a family with strong debts to the Mughal court, Ahmad studied the Quran and Sciences within the court. He was awarded an honorary LLD from the University of Edinburgh in 1889. Raghubar Das (born 3 May 1955) is an Indian politician who served as the sixth Chief Minister of Jharkhand. He was sworn in as the 6th chief minister of Jharkhand on 28 December 2014. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party and has twice served as the president of Jharkhand BJP. Currently he is the National Vice President of BJP. An employee of Tata Steel, he served as the member of legislative assembly five times, he was representing Jamshedpur East since 1995 to 2019.
