Chaos Now
''Chaos Now'' (stylized as ''CHAOS NOW*'') is the third studio album by experimental pop musician Jean Dawson, released on October 7, 2022, by the artist's label P+. The album was announced August 19 along with the release of single "Three Heads", with a music video directed by Bradley J. Calder, as well as the artist's first US headlining tour. "Porn Acting" was released as a prior single on February 27, third single "Pirate Radio" followed on September 16, and fourth single "Sick of It" released September 29. Background In an interview with Maxine Wally for '' W'', Dawson admitted difficulty with completing the album. He spent months in his bedroom in Inglewood, California working on it, comparing his room to "those movies where a dude is trying to figure out a crime and they have pieces of yarn connected to pins on the wall." Jean Dawson
Jean Dawson (born December 22, 1995) is a Mexican-American experimental pop musician. Since 2018, he has released three albums and over a dozen singles via his own record label P+, and toured across the US and Europe with artists such as Brockhampton. Early life Dawson, whose real name is David Sanders, was born on December 22, 1995 in San Diego, California and grew up in Tijuana, Mexico and Spring Valley, California. He is of mixed heritage, with an African-American father from Long Beach, California and a Mexican mother from Sinaloa. His mother learned English by listening to West Coast hip hop. He would cross the border to San Diego often since he went to elementary school there. He would spend those long bus rides listening to a wide variety of music, including grunge, hip hop, Britpop, new wave, and rock en español. Alternative Hip Hop
Alternative hip hop (also known as alternative rap) is a subgenre of hip hop music that encompasses a wide range of styles that are not typically identified as mainstream. AllMusic defines it as comprising " hip hop groups that refuse to conform to any of the traditional stereotypes of rap, such as gangsta, bass, hardcore, and party rap. Instead, they blur genres drawing equally from funk and pop/rock, as well as jazz, soul, reggae, and even folk." Alternative hip hop developed in the late 1980s and experienced a degree of mainstream recognition during the early-to-mid 1990s. "Bury a Friend" is a song by American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish and the third single from her debut studio album, ''When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?'' (2019). It was released on January 30, 2019, and serviced to US alternative radio stations on February 19, 2019, through Darkroom and Interscope Records. Bloc Party
Bloc Party are an English Rock music, rock band, composed of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, sampler), Russell Lissack (lead guitar, keyboards), Justin Harris (bass guitar, keyboards, saxophones, backing vocals) and Louise Bartle (drums, percussion).
