Chann Mahi
''Chan Mahi'' is a Pakistani Punjabi film released on 2 November 1956. The film was directed by Anwar Kamal Pasha and it became a popular musical film in 1956 with many super-hit film songs. Producer and director Anwar Kamal Pasha introduced actress Bahar Begum in this film who later became a well-known film actress both in Punjabi and Urdu language films. She stayed very active in the 1950s to 1980s period in the Pakistan film industry. Anwar Kamal Pasha
Anwar Kamal Pasha ( ur, ), (23 February 1925 – 13 October 1987) was the pioneer in the Pakistan film industry and an early Pakistani film director and producer from Lahore, Pakistan. Life and career Pasha was a graduate from the Forman Christian College, Lahore, and went on to earn two Master of Arts degrees at the University of the Punjab. He generally scripted, produced and directed his own films, which dealt with such social themes as poverty, love, social strata, suicide, moral decay and death. Anwar Kamal Pasha trained and introduced many new people to the Pakistan film industry who later made a name for themselves, including film directors M. S. Dar, M. Akram, Altaf Hussain (film director), music directors Master Inayat Hussain and later his younger brother Master Abdullah. Bahar Begum (born Kishwar Begum; ) is an actress best known for many Pakistani movies since 1956. She was first introduced to the Pakistani film industry by the renowned film director Anwar Kamal Pasha in film Chann Mahi (1956). Anwar Kamal Pasha is the one that gave her the professional film world name Bahar Begum. She later acted both in Punjabi, Pashto and Urdu language Pakistani films and had a very active career from 1956 through the 1980s. She has more than 600 films to her credit. Aslam Parvez (12 February 1932 – 21 November 1984) was a Pakistani film actor. Career Born as Chaudhary Muhammad Aslam into a family of traders in Lahore, Punjab, British India on 12 February 1932. Aslam Parvez entered the Pakistani film industry in the year 1955 at the age of 23. He started his film career in film producer Anwar Kamal Pasha's film ''Qatil'' (1955) as a side hero. Thereafter he played the leading role in the Punjabi language film ''Patay Khan'' opposite Noor Jehan.
