Chanchamayu
The Chanchamayo River (possibly from Quechua ''chanchay'' to walk and leap about, to walk quickly and confused, ''chancha chancha'' to walk quickly and irregularly, ''shancha'' a kind of bird, ''mayu'' river,) is a river in the Junín Region in Peru. It originates in the Huaytapallana mountain range where it is named Tulumayu. Chanchamayo flows along the town La Merced which is also called Chanchamayo. Quechua Language
Quechua (, ; ), usually called ("people's language") in Quechuan languages, is an Indigenous languages of the Americas, indigenous language family spoken by the Quechua peoples, primarily living in the Peruvian Andes. Huaytapallana Mountain Range
The Huaytapallana mountain range (possibly from Quechua ''wayta'' wild flower, a little bunch of flowers, ''pallay'' to collect, ''pallana'' an instrument to collect fruit; collectable, ''Waytapallana'' "a place where you collect wild flowers") lies in the Junín Region in the Andes of Peru. It extends between 11°47' and 11°56'S and 75°00' and 75°05'W for about 17 km. The surface area of the zone is 378'40 km2. The range is located in the provinces of Concepción and Huancayo. In 2011 Huaytapallana was declared an Area of Regional Conservation by Supreme Decrete No. 018-2011-MINAM. The area of 22,406.52 ha is situated in the districts of El Tambo, Huancayo, Pariahuanca and Quilcas of the Huancayo Province and in the Comas District of the Concepción Province. The Perené River () is a Peruvian river on the eastern slopes of the South American Andes.
