East Champaran is an administrative district in the state of Bihar in India.The district headquarters are located at Motihari. Prior to 1st Dec 1977, there was a single district called "Champaran". West Champaran District
West Champaran is an administrative district in the state of Bihar in India, located just west of Birgunj. It is the largest district in Bihar with an area of 5,228 km²(2,019sq mi). It is a part of Tirhut Division. The district headquarters are located in Bettiah. The district is known for its open border with Nepal. Raj Kumar Shukla
Raj Kumar Shukla (23 August 1875 – 20 May 1929) was the person who convinced Mahatma Gandhi to visit Champaran which later led to the Champaran Satyagraha. Shukla at the time worked under Hafiz Din Mohammad and was sent to meet Gandhi. Early life Raj Kumar Shukla was born in 1875 in a Bhatt (Brahmin) family in Satwaria village near Narkatiaganj in West Champaran. History During the 31st session of the Congress in Lucknow in 1916, Gandhiji met Raj Kumar Shukla, a representative of farmers from Champaran, who requested him to come and see for himself the miseries of the indigo ryots (tenant farmers) there. Gandhi later wrote in his autobiography “I must confess that I did not then know even the name, much less the geographical position, of Champaran, and I had hardly any notion of indigo plantations.” Shukla thus met Gandhi to make him aware of the plight of the cultivators in Champaran and persuaded him to go there. Radha Mohan Singh (born 1 September 1949) is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Since September 2020, he has been one of the national vice-presidents of the party. Ramesh Chandra Jha
Ramesh Chandra Jha (8 May 1928 – 7 April 1994) was an Indian poet, novelist and freedom fighter. Son of a senior gandhian and freedom fighter Lakshmi Narayan Jha, who was offered to become the first chief minister of Bihar but refused as he called himself a freedom fighter then a politician. History Of Bihar
The history of Bihar is one of the most varied in India. Bihar consists of three distinct regions, each has its own distinct history and culture. They are Magadh, Mithila and Bhojpur. Chirand, on the northern bank of the Ganga River, in Saran district, has an archaeological record from the Neolithic age (about 2500–1345BC). Regions of Bihar—such as Magadha, Mithila and Anga—are mentioned in religious texts and epics of ancient India. Mithila is believed to be the centre of Indian power in the Later Vedic period (c. 1100-500 BCE). Mithila first gained prominence after the establishment of the Videha kingdom. The Kings of the Videha Kingdom were called Janakas. A daughter of one of the Janaks of Mithila, Sita, is mentioned as consort of Lord Rama in the Hindu epic Ramayana, written by Valmiki. Dinesh Bhramar
Dinesh Bhramar is a Hindi and Bhojpuri poet from Bihar, India. He has been credited to introduce the Ghazal and Ruba'i in Bhojpuri literature. Early life and education Bhramar was born in 1939 in British India at Bagaha, a small township in undivided Champaran, Bihar. His father Pt. Gunjeshwari Pathak was a Sanskrit scholar and patron of classical arts. Bhramar graduated in Hindi literature from Patna University in 1961. Career Bhramar taught Hindi Literature at M.J.K College, Bettiah as a lecturer (1961-1962) and later at Tata Workers College, Jamshedpur as a reader (1962-1966). Manoj Bajpai
Manoj Bajpayee (born 23 April 1969), also transliterated as Manoj Bajpai, is an Indian actor who predominantly works in Hindi cinema and has also done Telugu and Tamil language films.
