Chalino Sánchez
Rosalino "Chalino" Sánchez Félix (30 August 1960 – 16 May 1992), was a Mexican singer-songwriter. Posthumously called "El Rey del Corrido", he is widely considered one of the most influential narcocorrido singers of the late 20th century. Chalino was an initial pioneer in the narcocorrido genre. His songs mostly contend stories of murder and organized crime in nineteenth and twenty century Northern Mexico, including topics such as the Mexican Revolution, drug cartels, drug trafficking, murders, serial killers, Mexican standoffs, gambling, and murder-suicides. During a stint at La Mesa Prison, Chalino began composing songs for inmates that had stories they wanted to preserve in a ballad. Chalino also composed and sang romantic and radio-friendly songs. Olympic Boulevard (formerly 10th Street) is a major arterial road in Los Angeles, California. It stretches from Ocean Avenue on the western end of Santa Monica to East Los Angeles—farther than Wilshire Boulevard and most other streets. Adán Santos Sánchez Vallejo (April 14, 1984 – March 27, 2004), known professionally as Adán Chalino Sánchez in honour to his father, was an American-Mexican singer and composer. Like his father, he specialized in Regional Mexican music. Biography Sánchez was born in Torrance, California, the son of singer Chalino Sánchez. He was eight years old when his father was kidnapped and killed in the Mexican state of Sinaloa in 1992. His father's popularity skyrocketed after his death in 1992, giving way to a long series of compilation records, postmortem releases, and dedications. Raised by his mother in Paramount, California, he took up singing adopting his father nickname, "Chalino", and gained a strong local fan base among Mexican-American teenagers.
