Chakma Autonomous District Council
The Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) is an autonomous council for the Chakma people living in the south-western part of Mizoram, India. It covers the Tuichawng (Chawngte) subdivision of Lawngtlai district. Its headquarters is at Kamalanagar. The Chakma people has been demanding to change the status of the Chakma Autonomous District Council into a Union territory under the name Chakmaland. The Chakma Autonomous District Council was formed under the Sixth schedule of the Constitution of India on 29 April 1972. The Council is the replication of the state assembly and exercises executive power over specially allotted departments. It is one of the three Autonomous District Councils of Mizoram state in North-East India. Mizo National Front
The Mizo National Front ( MNF) is a regional political party in Mizoram, India. MNF emerged from the Mizo National Famine Front, which was formed by Pu Laldenga to protest against the inaction of the Indian central government towards the famine situation in the Mizo areas of the Assam state in 1959. It staged a major uprising in 1966, followed by years of underground activities. In 1986, it signed the Mizoram Accord with the Government of India, renouncing secession and violence. The MNF then began contesting elections and has formed state government in Mizoram three times. It is currently the state's ruling party, with its president, Zoramthanga, as the Chief Minister of Mizoram. Chakma Language
Chakma language (; autonym: , ) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Chakma and Daingnet people. The language has common features with other languages in the region like the Chittagonian, Tanchangya, Arakanese and others. It is spoken by nearly 320,000 people in southeast Bangladesh in Chittagong Hill Tracts, and another 230,000 in India, including 96,972 in Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. It is written using the Chakma script, which is also called Awzhā Pāṭh, sometimes romanised Ojhopath. Literacy in Chakma script is low. Mara Autonomous District Council (MADC) is one of the three Autonomous District Councils within Mizoram state of India. It covers Siaha subdivision and Tipa subdivision of Siaha district. Lai Autonomous District Council
The Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) is one of the three Autonomous District Councils in Mizoram state in north-east India. It covers the Lawngtlai and Sangau subdivisions of the Lawngtlai district. It is an autonomous district council for the Lai people living in south-eastern Mizoram. The LADC's headquarters are in Lawngtlai town, which is the district capital of the Lawngtlai district. Kristo Mohan Chakma
Kristo Mohan Chakma () was an Indian politician from Mizoram state in India. He represented Chawngte constituency (now Tuichawng Assembly constituency) in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly in 1978. Early life and education Kristo Mohan Chakma received his early education in the local school. He then became a Buddhist monk (novice) and received training on Buddhism and Pali language. In 1936, his father came to then Lushai Hills (Mizoram) from Tripura and settled at Marpara. In 1938, he married Sushama Chakma, daughter of Pancha Ratna Dewan. In India, President's rule is the suspension of state government and imposition of direct Union government rule in a state. Under Article 356 of the Constitution of India, if a state government is unable to function according to Constitutional provisions, the Union government can take direct control of the state machinery.
