Chak De! India
''Chak De! India'' () is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language sports drama film directed by Shimit Amin and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, with a script written by Jaideep Sahni. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan as Kabir Khan, former captain of the India men's national field hockey team. After a disastrous loss to Pakistan, Khan is ostracized from the sport owing to religious prejudice. 7 years later in an attempt to redeem himself, he becomes the coach for the Indian national women's hockey team, with the goal of turning its 16 contentious players into an award-winning team. Shimit Amin
Shimit Amin is an Indian film director and editor. He is best known for the award-winning film ''Chak De! India'' (2007) starring Shah Rukh Khan. Biography Amin was born in Kampala, Uganda but grew up in Florida, in the United States. While he was enamored with film culture from an early age, his parents pressed him to be more conventional in his college studies; he graduated with a degree in mathematics from the University of Florida. Maharaj Krishan Kaushik (2 May 1955 – 8 May 2021) was a member of the India men's national field hockey team and coach of the India women's national field hockey team. The Indian women's national field hockey team (nicknamed the ''Nabhvarna'') represents India in international field hockey, and is governed by Hockey India.
