Centrum (Warsaw Metro)
Centrum is a station on Line M1 of the Warsaw Metro, located under '' Plac Defilad'', a square in the borough of Śródmieście, next to the Dmowski roundabout, where the two main streets, Marszałkowska and Aleje Jerozolimskie, intersect. It is located close to the Palace of Culture and Science and connections can be made, via Pasaż Wisławy Szymborskiej and Aleje Jerozolimskie at ground level, to Warszawa Śródmieście railway station which is in turn directly connected to Warszawa Centralna railway station. It has two levels: the lower one contains the platforms and the upper one is a shopping mall. The station was opened on 26 May 1998 as the northern terminus of the extension from Politechnika. On 11 May 2001, the line was extended north to Ratusz. Warszawa Centralna Railway Station
Warszawa Centralna, in English known as Warsaw Central Station, is the primary railway station in Warsaw, Poland. Completed in 1975, the station is located on the Warsaw Cross-City Line and features four underground island platforms with eight tracks in total. It is served by the long-distance domestic and international trains of PKP Intercity and Polregio as well as some of the regional trains operated by Koleje Mazowieckie. Adjacent to the north side of the building is a bus station that serves as the central hub for night bus lines, and Złote Tarasy shopping center. Plac Konstytucji () is a proposed and planned Warsaw Metro The Warsaw Metro ( pl, Metro Warszawskie) is a rapid transit underground system serving the Polish capital Warsaw. It currently consists of two lines, the north-south Line M1 which links central Warsaw with its densely populated northern and sout ... station. It was included in the original plans, however it was temporarily dropped in 1989 due to budget constraints. As of 2009 this station is in hiatus - it is listed as a planned investment, but the last official update regarding its status dates to 2006. However, in September 2019 the Warsaw city council announced plans to build the station after all. A contractor has been announced, and will have until 2026 to build the station. The proposed location of the station is the corner of Marszałkowska and Hoża streets, some 300 m north of the Constitution Square. Ratusz Arsenał is a station on Line M1 of the Warsaw Metro, Poland, located under the Plac Bankowy (English: ''Bank Square'') in the borough of Śródmieście. The station was opened on 11 May 2001 as the northern terminus of the extension from Centrum. On 20 December 2003 the line was extended further north to Dworzec Gdański. It takes its name from the Warsaw City Hall (Polish: ''Ratusz'') located on the western side of the square. Warsaw Arsenal is also located near the station. Jerusalem Avenue ( pl, Aleje Jerozolimskie) is one of the principal streets of the capital city of Warsaw in Poland. It runs through the City Centre along the East-West axis, linking the western borough of Wola with the bridge on the Vistula River and the borough of Praga on the other side of the river. History The name of the street comes from a small village erected in 1774 by prince and marshal August Sułkowski for the Jewish settlers in Mazovia. Roman Stanisław Dmowski (Polish: , 9 August 1864 – 2 January 1939) was a Polish politician, statesman, and co-founder and chief ideologue of the National Democracy (abbreviated "ND": in Polish, "''Endecja''") political movement. Warszawa Śródmieście Railway Station
Warszawa Śródmieście railway station (Polish pronunciation: ) is a railway station in Warsaw, Poland, in the district of Śródmieście. The station serves the suburban (southern) tracks of the Warsaw Cross-City Line and is used by regional trains run by Koleje Mazowieckie (KM) and Szybka Kolej Miejska (SKM). There are two side platforms and one island platform serving two tracks, all located in a tunnel. It was built on the principle of the Spanish solution, whereas the centre platform would be using for the arriving passengers only and the side platforms for departing passengers only. The separation was enforced by access controls to the centre platform (discontinued in 1960s), location of ticket offices next to side platforms only, and opening trains' doors on the centre platform side first and on the side platform side with a delay.
