Central University of Kashmir (often abbreviated as cukashmir), formerly Central University of Jammu and Kashmir, is a central university located in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It has been established in March 2009 through an Act of Parliament, "The Central Universities Act, 2009" by Govt. of India. The university started started functioning from May 2009. Academics The Central University of Kashmir offers a three-year bachelor's degree programme in vocational studies (BVoc), a five-year integrated bachelor's degree programme in arts and laws (BA-LLB), five-year integrated bachelor's and master's degree programmes (BSc-MSc) in biotechnology, mathematics, physics and zoology, a three-year integrated bachelor's and master's degree programme in Education (BEd-MEd) and postgraduate programmes, including LLM, MA, MBA, MCom, MSc, MTech and MTTM. Srikumar Banerjee
Srikumar Banerjee (25 April 1946 – 23 May 2021) was an Indian metallurgical engineer. He retired as the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India (AECI) and the secretary of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) on 30 April 2012. Prior to his stint as DAE chairman, he was the director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) from 30 April 2004 to 19 May 2010. He had also served as a DAE Homi Bhabha Chair Professor at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. He was known as a great physical metallurgist. Banerjee died during the early morning of 23 May 2021, from a heart attack at his residence in Navi Mumbai. He had recovered from COVID-19 in previous month. Shahnaz Bashir is a Kashmiri novelist and academic from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Education and work Shahnaz Bashir is a doctoral fellow and teaching associate in Communication at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass). He teaches "Writing As Communication" and "Public Speaking", and has been awarded a commendation for “excellent pedagogy” by the Directorate of Graduate Programs at the Department of Communication at UMass.
