Central Station (MLR Station)
Van Buren/1st Avenue station and Van Buren/Central Avenue station, also known as Central Station, is a pair of Valley Metro Rail stations in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Despite having at least four different names, it is all actually one facility, which serves as a stop for various city buses. The rail station is the 17th stop westbound and the 12th stop eastbound on the initial line segment. The station is configured in an island platform design, with the southbound platform which is located on 1st Avenue at Van Buren Street and the northbound platform located on Central Avenue at Van Buren Street, approximately apart from one another. A valley is an elongated low area often running between hills or mountains, which will typically contain a river or stream running from one end to the other. Phoenix Civic Space Park
Civic Space Park is an urban park in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona which first opened to the public in April 2009. It is located directly across Central Avenue from the main part of the ASU Downtown Campus. It is also located north of the Central Station METRO Light Rail and bus transfer stations. History The land the park is located on was a combination of old buildings and parking lots before the City of Phoenix began buying the properties. The main building renovated in the project is called the A.E. England Building. Originally opened in the 1920s as a car dealership, it now houses retail space and a community meeting room for special events. In the outdoor spaces, the majority of the park (over 70%) will be shaded, once all the trees have fully matured, through a combination of trees and shade structures. Freeport-McMoRan Center (formerly One Central Park East) is a highrise located in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona. It is located adjacent to Arizona State University's Downtown campus. Upon completion in 2009, the building was the first high-rise office tower to open in Downtown Phoenix in nearly eight years. It is named for mining company Freeport-McMoRan whose headquarters are located in the building. Chase Tower (Phoenix)
The Chase Tower (formerly known as Valley Center and Bank One Center) in Phoenix, Arizona, is the tallest building in the state of Arizona. Built in 1972, it is 483 feet (147 m) tall. It was originally built for local financial heavyweight Valley National Bank, with which Bank One merged in 1993. Bank One merged with Chase in 2005, and the building was renamed in December 2005. It is 40 stories tall, but the highest occupiable floor is the 38th. At one time there was a public observation area on the 39th floor in the Chase Tower, but it was closed during redevelopment and construction on the upper floors. The Hotel San Carlos branch in Phoenix, Arizona, also known as San Carlos Hotel, is both an operating hotel and tourist site. It has been associated with ghost sightings.
