The Central District of Tabriz County ( fa, بخش مرکزی شهرستان تبریز) is a district (bakhsh) in Tabriz County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 1,521,239, in 414,499 families. The District has four cities: Tabriz, Sardrud, Malek Kian, and Basmenj. Bakhsh
A ( fa, بخش, also romanized as ) is a third-level administrative division of Iran. While sometimes translated as "county," it is more accurately translated as "district," similar to a township in the United States or a district of England.
