Central Conservation Area
Central Conservation Area ( es, Área de Conservación Central (ACC)), is an administrative area which is managed by SINAC for the purposes of conservation in the central part of Costa Rica, notably the volcanic areas of the Cordillera Central. It contains six National Parks, several wildlife refuges and other types of nature reserves. Los Quetzales National Park
Los Quetzales National Park ( es, Parque Nacional Los Quetzales), located 97 kilometers from San Isidro de El General, Costa Rica, it was created in 2006 by decree 32981-MINAE. It is managed under the Central Conservation Area of the National System of Conservation Areas. Stretching across , the national park has limited facilities including a small ranger station and a single, highly mountainous main road. The national park is surrounded by the Los Santos Forest Reserve on its north, west, south sides, and by the Tapantí National Park on its northeast side. The park was created by allocating the area from Los Santos Forest Reserve. Irazú Volcano National Park
Irazú Volcano National Park, or in Spanish the , is a National Park in the Central Conservation Area of Costa Rica that encompasses the area around the Irazú Volcano in Cartago Province which incorporates what used to be the Ruben Torres Rojas Forest Reserve now called the Prusia Forest Reserve. Guayabo National Monument
Guayabo National Monument ( es, Monumento Nacional Guayabo), is an archaeological site near the city of Turrialba, within the Central Conservation Area in the Cartago Province, Costa Rica. It is almost directly in the center of the country on the Southern slope of the Turrialba Volcano. The National Monument covers about and is surrounded by rainforest plant vegetation causing it to be extremely vibrant green due to high precipitation and rich soils.
