Centerfield is a city in southwestern Sanpete County, Utah, Sanpete County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,341 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Although Centerfield was a town in 2000, it has since been classified as a fifth-class city by state law. The community was so named because of its location in the center of a wide valley. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km2), all land. Climate According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Centerfield has a semi-arid climate, abbreviated "BSk" on climate maps. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,048 people, 310 households, and 252 families residing in the town. The population density was 581.6 people per square mile (224.8/km2). Gunnison, Utah
Gunnison is a city in the Sevier Valley in southwestern Sanpete County, Utah, United States. The population was 3,509 at the 2020 census. The city was named in honor of John W. Gunnison, a United States Army officer who surveyed for the transcontinental railroad in 1853. History 2007 gas spill In the summer of 2007, over of gasoline leaked from a storage tank beneath the Top Stop gas station, located on the corner of South Main and East Center and owned by Wind River Petroleum.
