Ulvi Cemal Erkin
Ulvi Cemal Erkin () (March 14, 1906 – September 15, 1972) was a member of the pioneer group of symphonic composers in Turkey, born in the period 1904–1910, who later came to be called The Turkish Five. These composers set out the direction of music in the newly established Turkish Republic. These composers distinguished themselves with their use of Turkish folk music and modal elements in an entirely Western symphonic style. Biography Ulvi Cemal Erkin's aptitude for music was noticed at an early age by his mother, herself a pianist. His father was a senior civil servant in the Ottoman administration, contracted sepsis and died when the Erkin was seven. Cemâl Süreya (born Cemâlettin Seber; 1931 – 9 January 1990) was a Turkish poet and writer of Kurdish– Zaza descent. Biography Süreya and his family were deported to Bilecik, a city in the Marmara Region of Turkey after the Dersim Rebellion (Tunceli) in 1938. Cemal Pasha
Ahmed Djemal ( ota, احمد جمال پاشا, Ahmet Cemâl Paşa; 6 May 1872 – 21 July 1922), also known as Cemal Pasha, was an Ottoman military leader and one of the Three Pashas that ruled the Ottoman Empire during World War I. Djemal was born in Mytilene, Lesbos. As an officer of II Corps he was stationed in Salonica where he developed political sympathies for the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) reformers. He was initially praised by Christian missionaries and provided support to the Armenian victims of the Adana massacres. In the course of his army career Djemal developed a rivalry with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, served in Salonica on the frontlines of the Balkan Wars and was given the military command of Constantinople after the Raid on the Sublime Porte. Cemal Nalga (born 16 September 1987) is a Turkish professional basketball player for Balıkesir Büyükşehir Belediyespor of the Turkish Basketball First League(TBL). He plays the center position. Cemal Erçman (1896/1904–?), also known as Gülleci Cemal, was a Turkish weightlifter, who competed at the 1924 and 1928 Olympic Games. He lifted 345 kg in total at the 1924 Olympic Games held in Paris, France and became 14th among 22 competitors in the featherweight class. At the next Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands, he achieved the 8th rank with 262.5 kg in total in the featherweight division, where 25 sportspeople competed. Feridun Cemal Erkin (1899–1980)
Feridun Cemal Erkin (1899–1980) was a Turkish diplomat and politician. He was the minister of foreign affairs between 1962 and 1965. He served as the ambassador of Turkey in various countries, including Italy, the United States of America, Spain, France and the United Kingdom. Early life and education Erkin was born in İstanbul 1899. He graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1920. He received a degree in law from the University of Paris in 1925.
