''Celebrity Bainisteoir'' was a prime-time reality programme created by Fiona Looney and first broadcast in 2008 by RTÉ. It involved a number of celebrities competing against each other as a Gaelic football team coach. The title derived from the Irish word for manager: ''bainisteoir'' . The series ran successfully for five years. It was axed in 2013 and replaced with Ireland's Fittest Family. Tubridy Tonight
''Tubridy Tonight'' is a talk show hosted by Ryan Tubridy that aired on RTÉ One for five seasons between 2004 and 2009. The programme featured guest interviews (usually three per show), audience participation and live music from both a guest music group and the house band. ''Tubridy Tonight'' aired every Saturday night, except during the summer months, directly after the main evening news. The show's house musical act was Clint Velour and the Camembert Quartet. ''Tubridy Tonight'' was the first successful Saturday night chat show to be broadcast by RTÉ since the ending of ''Kenny Live'' in 1999. The programme had regular viewing figures of 450,000, however, the show also regularly fell victim to so-called "Saturday Night Syndrome", with '' The Late Late Show'', broadcast on Friday nights, frequently featuring supposedly better guests. Croke Park
Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. It serves as both the principal national stadium of Ireland and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Since 1891 the site has been used by the GAA to host Gaelic sports, including the annual All-Ireland in Gaelic football and hurling. Bunratty Castle
Bunratty Castle (, meaning "castle at the mouth of the Ratty") is a large 15th-century tower house in County Clare, Ireland. It is located in the centre of Bunratty village ( ga, Bun Ráite), by the N18 road between Limerick and Ennis, near Shannon Town and its airport. The castle and the adjoining folk park are run by Shannon Heritage as tourist attractions. Name The name Bunratty, ''Bun Raite'' (or possibly, ''Bun na Raite'') in Irish, means "river basin of the Ratty". This river, alongside the castle, flows into the nearby Shannon estuary. Earlier structures The first recorded settlement at the site may have been a Norsemen settlement/trading camp reported in the Annals of the Four Masters to have been destroyed by Brian Boru in 977. Six (band)
Six were an Irish pop group who formed on the Irish version of the television programme '' Popstars'' in 2002. The programme aired on RTÉ One on Sunday nights in the autumn and winter of 2001–02. The band were signed to Simon Cowell under BMG Records UK and managed by Louis Walsh who also appeared as a judge on the show. Their first single, " There's a Whole Lot of Loving Going On", is currently the fastest and third-biggest selling single in Irish history. Career Sinéad Sheppard, Emma O'Driscoll, Kyle Anderson, Sarah Keating, Andy Orr and Liam McKenna were the winners of the show who earned a place in Six. Nadine Coyle was originally selected to be in the band, however was disqualified after it became clear she had lied about her age and that she was only sixteen years old. She was replaced by Keating. Rockwell Rovers GAA
Rockwell Rovers is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and gaelic football club located in the village of New Inn in Tipperary, Ireland. The Rockwell GAA club was founded on 20 October 1887 and the scroll prescribing this is displayed in Rockwell College. The club was originally located in Rockwell College but moved to the village in 1932. The club came to national attention in 2009 when they took part in the second series of the reality TV programme Celebrity Bainisteoir, when they were managed by Tipperary model Andrea Roche. Honours Rockwell Rovers won the 2020 County Tipperary Intermediate Football title beating Grangemockler/Ballyneale in Clonmel Sportsfield on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-09. Derry Clarke
Derry Clarke is an Irish celebrity chef, and was the proprietor of the restaurant L'Ecrivain. He has also been a reality television judge, having acted as a judge alongside Bibi Baskin and Sammy Leslie on the RTÉ One reality television series '' Fáilte Towers'', and has appeared on other programmes such as '' The Restaurant'', ''The Afternoon Show'' and '' The Panel'' (in 2008). Career Clarke's professional career began at the age of sixteen years. He started his career in 1972, with Peter Barry, known for The Man Friday.
