The Cedar Valley of Iron County, Utah, United States is a long valley located in the southeast of the county, against the Hurricane Cliffs which border the Cedar Mountains and the Markagunt Plateau. Cedar Valley borders the southeast of the Escalante Desert, at its north and northwest. Cedar City, Utah lies in the valley's center and east, at the foothills of the Hurricane Cliffs. It narrows in the southwest, between mountain ranges; in this southwest section, the Harmony Mountains are west, and the Hurricane Cliffs are east, bordering the Kolob Terrace. Cedar Valley is a city in Logan County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 288 at the 2010 census, nearly five times the figure of 58 in 2000. It is part of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is primarily a bedroom community, since more than 90 percent of the employed inhabitants commute to work in other towns. The Cedar Valley Formation is a geologic formation in Iowa. It preserves fossils dating back to the Devonian period. No type locality has ever been designated for this formation, but it is best known for limestone and dolomite exposures in and around Johnson County, Iowa.
