Cedar Valley, Missouri
Cedar Valley is an extinct town in Taney County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The townsite was on Long Creek and Big Cedar Hollow just north of the current Missouri Route 86 bridge. The location is currently submerged under the waters of Table Rock Lake Table Rock Lake is an artificial lake or reservoir in the Ozarks of southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas in the United States. Designed, built and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the lake is impounded by Table Rock Dam .... Taney County is a county located in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 56,066. Its county seat is Forsyth. It is included in the Branson, Missouri, Micropolitan Statistical Area. Taney County was officially organized on January 4, 1837, and named in honor of Roger Brooke Taney, the fifth Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, best known for delivering the infamous majority opinion in ''Dred Scott v. Sandford.'' However, unlike Roger B. Taney, who pronounced his name /ˈtɔːni/, the "Taney" in Taney County is generally pronounced /ˈteɪni/. Long Creek (White River)
Long Creek is a stream in western Boone and eastern Carroll counties of Northwest Arkansas. The stream is a tributary of the Table Rock Lake section of White River. The stream headwaters arise high in the Ozark Mountains of northwestern Arkansas in southwest Boone County. The stream flows northwest into Carroll County and turns north and runs parallel to U.S. Route 412 past Carrollton. It turns northeast and re-enters Boone County and passes under the Route 412/ Route 62 concurrency just east of Alpena. The stream meanders back and forth across the Boone-Carroll county line repeatedly passing the community of Denver where it gains the Dry Creek tributary. It continues on to the north to enter the waters of Table Rock Lake in northwestern Boone County. Missouri Route 86
Route 86 is a highway in southwest Missouri. The eastern terminus is at U.S. Route 65 just north of Ridgedale. Table Rock Lake
Table Rock Lake is an artificial lake or reservoir in the Ozarks of southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas in the United States. Designed, built and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the lake is impounded by Table Rock Dam (located ), which was constructed from 1954 to 1958 on the White River. The lake is a popular attraction for the city of Branson, Missouri, and the nearby town of Shell Knob, Missouri. There are several commercial marinas along the lake, and Table Rock State Park is located on the east side, both north and south of Table Rock Dam. Downstream from the dam, the Missouri Department of Conservation operates a fish hatchery, which is used to stock trout in Lake Taneycomo, which begins immediately downstream from the Table Rock Dam.
