The Thomas Cole National Historic Site, also known as Cedar Grove, is a National Historic Landmark that includes the home and the studio of painter Thomas Cole, founder of the Hudson River School of American painting. It is located at 218 Spring Street, Catskill, NY, United States. The site provided Thomas Cole with a residence and studio from 1833 through his death in 1848. Susina Plantation is an antebellum Greek Revival house and several dependencies on 140 acres (57 ha) near Beachton, Georgia, approximately 15 miles (24 km) southwest of the city of Thomasville, Georgia. It was originally called Cedar Grove. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is currently a private residence. History Antebellum Edward Blackshear moved to the area circa 1822 from what was then Pulaski County, Georgia. Edward was the brother of General David Blackshear, the namesake of Lake Blackshear and the town of Blackshear, Georgia. Edward died September 3, 1829, and his land passed to his wife and five children. The largest block was bequeathed jointly to his sons James Joseph and Thomas Edward. The Cedar Grove Weir is a weir located across the Logan River in the South East region of Queensland, Australia. The main purpose of the weir is for potable water storage. Location and features The weir is located northwest of , and southwest of and is connected to the Wyaralong Dam on Teviot Brook and the Bromelton Offstream Storage facility. The project was completed in December 2007 at a cost of 18.5 million and provides up to of water per day. Initially managed by Queensland Water Infrastructure, a body set up to administer major water infrastructure projects, the weir is now managed by SEQ Water. Cedar Grove is a community in Markham, Ontario on the Little Rouge River. It is centred on 14th Avenue and Reesor Road (10th Line) and within the boundaries of the future national Rouge Park. History James Osborne of North Carolina, with wife and children, first settled in the Cedar Grove area in the late eighteenth century. In 1804 Mennonite settlers from Pennsylvania (sometimes called the Pennsylvania Dutch) arrived in Cedar Grove, headed by Peter Reesor, who first scouted the area for his community in the 1790s. Reesor bought the Osborne lot (lot 4, conc. 9) and performed the settlement duties for the original grantee in 1804; he then acquired lot 5 in 1805. The stone house on the Reesor homestead was built in 1832. Cedar Grove is a mixed-use locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , Cedar Grove had a population of 2,041 people. Geography The western and part of the northern boundary of Cedar Grove follows the Logan River. On the river on the northern boundary is the Cedar Grove Weir. The Mount Lindesay Highway loosely forms the eastern boundary of the locality. The eastern edge of the locality and the west of the locality are used for agriculture, a mixture of grazing on native vegetation and crop growing.
