Cayo (film)
''Cayo'' is a 2005 Puerto Rican film directed by Vicente Juarbe and written by Ineabelle Colón and Pedro Muñiz. The film also stars Roselyn Sánchez. Plot The film follows the life of Iván, a former Vietnam War veteran (who later becomes a New York City police officer) who returns to his childhood home island of Culebra in Puerto Rico, after he is diagnosed with cancer. Married to his longtime love, Julia, he tries to reconnect with his former best friend, Kike, who has estranged himself from the couple after Julia broke his heart and married Iván instead. Cancer
Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss, and a change in bowel movements. Cinema Of Puerto Rico
The history of the Cinema industry in Puerto Rico predates Hollywood, being conceived after the first industries emerged in some locations of the United States, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, France, Great Britain and Germany. During the US invasion of the island in 1898, American soldiers brought cameras to record what they saw. By 1912, Puerto Ricans would begin to produce their own films. After the early images recorded by the American soldiers in 1898, most of the films produced in the island were documentaries. It wasn't until 1912 that Rafael Colorado D'Assoy recorded the first non-documentary film titled ''Un drama en Puerto Rico''. After that, Colorado and Antonio Capella Martínez created the Film Industrial Society of Puerto Rico in 1916, producing their first film titled ''Por la hembra y el gallo''. Raul Carbonell Huo (better known as Raulito Carbonell and also known as Raulito Carbonell, Jr., born approx. 1950) is a Puerto Rican actor, comedian, salsa singer, published author and lawyer. He has played several famous characters on Puerto Rican television, most notably "Israel", "El Veterano" and "Papo Swing", and released one salsa album in 1995. Biography Carbonell is the son of Raul Carbonell, Sr., who himself was a poet and voice actor. Raul Sr. used to work on Puerto Rican radionovelas and was well known by the Puerto Rican public.
