Catch The Sun
"Catch the Sun" is the second single from Doves' debut studio album '' Lost Souls''. The single was released on 29 May 2000 in the UK on 2 CDs and 10" vinyl, and charted at number 32 on the UK Singles Chart. The psychedelic, kaleidoscopic music video for "Catch the Sun" was directed by Sophie Muller. Jamie Cullum covered "Catch the Sun" on his album '' Catching Tales''. "Down to Sea" is an early demo of " Sea Song." The B-sides for CD2 are songs from Doves' previous incarnation as Sub Sub. The versions of "Crunch" and "Lost in Watts" differ slightly from those found on Sub Sub's album '' Delta Tapes''. "Crunch" is an edit, and "Lost in Watts" is an alternate mix omitting some background vocals (which are prominent on the '' Delta Tapes'' version). The B-side "Valley" features the piano riff from The Beach Boys' ''Smile''-era songs "Do You Like Worms" and "Heroes And Villains". Doves (band)
Doves are an English indie rock band formed in Manchester. The band is composed of twin brothers Jez Williams (guitar, vocals) and Andy Williams (drums, vocals), and Jimi Goodwin (bass, vocals, guitar). Additionally, the band employs Martin Rebelski, as a touring and session musician on keyboards. The band released four studio albums between 2000 and 2009, two of which reached #1 on the UK album charts. A compilation album, '' The Places Between: The Best of Doves'', was released in April 2010. Doves went on hiatus in 2010. During this time Goodwin released his first solo album, '' Odludek'' (2014), while the Williams brothers regrouped as Black Rivers. In December 2018, Doves announced they were ending their hiatus by performing for the Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall on 29 March 2019. Sub Sub were an English dance act from Handforth, Cheshire composed of Jimi Goodwin and twin brothers Andy and Jez Williams. The threesome met at school in 1985 and became regulars at The Haçienda The Haçienda was a nightclub and music venue in Manchester, North West England, which became famous during the Manchester years of the 1980s and early 1990s. ''Project Gotham Racing'' is a racing video game developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It was released exclusively for the Xbox as a launch title in November 2001. Gameplay ''Project Gotham Racing'' differs from most racing games in that winning a race does not necessarily mean the player advances to the next round; instead advancement in ''Project Gotham Racing'' requires both driving fast enough to meet the challenge set, and scoring enough Kudos points to advance. Kudos points are gained through the player's driving skills, such as power sliding around a corner at speed, or overtaking non-player characters in the race. "Do You Like Worms?" (sometimes erroneously referred to as "Do You Dig Worms?") is a song by American rock band the Beach Boys from their never-finished album ''Smile''. Written by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks, the song is about the recolonization of the American continent and contains lyrical references to the Sandwich Islands and "Bicycle Rider Back" playing cards. None of the lyrics appear to mention worms; asked about the title, Parks said he could not remember where it came from. The keyboard break melody was later repurposed for the chorus of "Heroes and Villains" (1967). In 2004, Wilson rerecorded "Do You Like Worms" as "Roll Plymouth Rock" for ''Brian Wilson Presents Smile''. ''Smile'' (stylized as ''SMiLE'') is an unfinished album by the American rock band the Beach Boys that was planned to follow their 11th studio album '' Pet Sounds'' (1966). It was to be a 12-track LP that drew from over 50 hours of interchangeable sound fragments, similar to the group's 1966 single " Good Vibrations". Instead, after a year of recording, the album was shelved and the group released a downscaled version, ''Smiley Smile'', in September 1967. The Beach Boys are an American rock band that formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961.
