Catalonia Open Darts
The Catalonia Open is a darts tournament held in Calella, Catalonia. It has been held since 1995. The first edition was staged in Barcelona and then moved to Calella. This competition is organized by Federació Catalana de Dards (FCD) and is ranked for World Darts Federation (WDF) and British Darts Organisation (BDO). The official darts federation from Catalunya are a full member of World Darts Federation (WDF) from September 2011. Originated by the successful participation of Catalonia Open, the organization was created FCD Anniversary Open coinciding with the twenty-fifth anniversary, and since 2015 this competition celebrates next day of the Catalonia Open on Sunday. In 2020 the competition was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Calella
Calella is a municipality in the Maresme region of Spain, located 50 km from Barcelona, 50 km from Girona and 6 km from the Montnegre-Corredor Natural Park. Alan Norris (darts Player)
Alan Norris (born 21 February 1972) is a former English darts player. He was the runner-up at the 2014 BDO World Darts Championship and also lost in the final of the 2012 Zuiderduin Masters, with Stephen Bunting prevailing on both occasions. In 2015, he switched to the PDC and, after reaching the quarter-finals of the 2016 World Championship, he was named the PDC Best Newcomer of the year. BDO career Norris won the 2007 Sweden National Championships, beating Daniel Larsson in the final. He had earlier reached the semi-finals of the Finnish Open. Aileen de Graaf (born 25 April 1990) is a Dutch darts player playing in events of the World Darts Federation (WDF). She is member of the Dutch national team. Sharon Prins
Sharon Prins (also known by her married name Sharon Boxem-Prins; born 24 August 1988) is a former Dutch darts player who played in events of the British Darts Organisation (BDO). Career Prins was born in 1988 in Zoetermeer and became a darts player in 2006. Her nickname is "Racing Angel" and follows from her passion for motorcycling. Prins plays darts since 2006. She managed to qualify for the BDO Women World Championship 2013, where she lost in the semi-final to Lisa Ashton. Andy Baetens
Andy Baetens (born 24 February 1989) is a Belgian professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is the reigning 2023 WDF World Darts champion, becoming the first Belgian player to win a world title. Baetens is also a four-time winner of the Czech Open and bronze medalist of the WDF Europe Cup. Chris Landman (born 17 January 1981) is a Dutch professional darts player, currently playing in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Willem Mandigers (born 4 June 1989) is a Dutch professional darts player who competes in World Darts Federation events. Career Mandigers won the Turkish Open in 2014. At the 2014 World Masters he lost to Robbie Green in the first round 3–1. World Darts Federation
The World Darts Federation (WDF) is a sport governing body and (along with the PDC) a tournament organiser for the game of darts. It was formed in 1974 by representatives of the original fourteen founding members. Membership is open to the national organizing body for darts in all nations. The WDF encourages the promotion of the sport of darts among and between those bodies, in an effort to gain international recognition for darts as a major sport.
