Casualty (series 19)
The nineteenth series of the British medical drama television series ''Casualty'' commenced airing in the United Kingdom on BBC One on 11 September 2004 and finished on 20 August 2005. It saw another increase, this time to 47 episodes. For the Christmas episodes of the series, two cross-over episodes with ''Holby City'' were shown, titled as: "Casualty@Holby City". BBC One
BBC One is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. Rebekah Gibbs
Rebekah Gibbs (17 March 1973 – 11 November 2014) was an English television and musical theatre actress. Born in Torquay, Devon, Gibbs attended Cockington Primary School, Torquay Academy and the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts in Sidcup. She appeared in West End musical productions including ''Starlight Express'', '' Grease'', and '' Fame'' before getting the part of Nina Farr, a paramedic, in the BBC medical drama ''Casualty'' in 2004. She played the role for more than 100 episodes (2004–6). Earlier television roles include an appearance in ''The Bill''. She left ''Casualty'' in 2006 to start a family, but was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. She wrote candidly about her experiences of cancer for the ''Daily Mirror''. She was hospitalised after a seizure while on holiday in Devon in 2013, due to complications from the cancer. Charlie Fairhead
Charlie Fairhead, played by Derek Thompson, is a fictional character from the BBC British medical drama ''Casualty''. He is the longest-serving character, having played the role of Charlie for over 36 years, and the only remaining original character to have appeared continuously since the first episode was broadcast on 6 September 1986. Derek Thompson chose to take a nine-month break from the show in early 2004. Charlie left the show in series 18 on 17 July 2004 and after five months, returned on 1 January 2005 in series 19. At the end of series 19, Charlie left again as Derek Thompson returned to his break from the show, with Charlie's exit scenes airing on 20 August 2005. Derek Thompson (born 4 April 1948) is a British actor, most notable for playing Charlie Fairhead in the long-running BBC television medical drama series ''Casualty'', playing the role since the series' inception in 1986, and his performance as Jeff in the British gangster film ''The Long Good Friday''. John "Abs" Denham
John "Abs" Denham is a fictional character from the BBC medical drama ''Casualty'', played by actor James Redmond. He first appeared in the series eighteen episode "Flash in the Pan", broadcast on 4 October 2003. Abs was introduced at a time producer Mervyn Watson had revamped the show's cast. Redmond was offered the role of Abs which he was happy to accept because he was "fascinated" with the psychology of the character. Abs is characterised as being a "charming but eccentric loner". He is also portrayed as very "gullible", which writers took advantage of during his first relationship stories. They paired him with paramedic Nina Farr (Rebekah Gibbs), but soon added her scheming step-sister Ellen Zitek (Georgina Bouzova) into the story. James William Forbes Redmond (born 24 November 1971) is an English actor, presenter, stand-up comedian and model, known for his roles as Abs Denham in ''Casualty'' and Rory Finnigan in ''Hollyoaks''. Career Redmond first rose to fame when he began modelling in Milan in April 1994, after being spotted by fashion scout Calvin French. Following a string of advert appearances, he was offered a part in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks''. ''Casualty'' is a British medical drama television series that premiered on 6 September 1986 on BBC1. The series was created by Jeremy Brock and Paul Unwin. Harry Harper (Casualty)
Harry Harper is a fictional character from the BBC One medical drama ''Casualty'', portrayed by actor Simon MacCorkindale. He made his first appearance in the series sixteen episode "Denial", broadcast on 8 June 2002. He ran Holby City Hospital's emergency department for five years, before being elected as a Member of Parliament. His final appearance was in the series twenty-two episode "Thicker Than Water", broadcast on 8 March 2008.
