Marquess Of Londonderry
Marquess of Londonderry, of the County of County Londonderry, Londonderry ( ), is a title in the Peerage of Ireland. History The title was created in 1816 for Robert Stewart, 1st Marquess of Londonderry, Robert Stewart, 1st Earl of Londonderry. He had earlier represented County Down in the Irish House of Commons. Stewart had already been created Baron Londonderry in 1789, Viscount Castlereagh, of Castlereagh (County Down barony), Castlereagh in the County of Down, in 1795 and Earl of Londonderry, of the County of Londonderry, in 1796. These titles are also in the Peerage of Ireland. He was the son of Alexander Stewart (1699–1781), Alexander Stewart, who had married Mary Cowan, sister and heiress of Robert Cowan (governor), Robert Cowan, who gained great wealth as Governor of Bombay from 1729 to 1737. Castlereigh Dam
The Castlereigh Dam (also spelled Castlereagh) is a gravity dam built across the Kehelgamu Oya, a major tributary to the Kelani River, approximately south-west of Hatton, in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Reservoir and power station The dam creates the iconic Castlereigh Reservoir, which is almost entirely maintained by the inflow of water from the Kehalgamu Oya. Water from the reservoir is diverted to the Wimalasurendra Power Station, located approximately further downstream at , near Norton Bridge. The power station discharges the water into the Norton Reservoir, created by the Norton Dam, located at the same site. The power station consists of two 25-megawatt units, totalling the plant capacity to . Both units were commissioned in . Castlereagh Street is a major street located in the Sydney central business district in New South Wales, Australia. The street runs in a north-to-south, in a one way direction only. Castlereagh Highway is a state highway located in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. The highway's northern terminus is at a junction with Carnarvon Highway, south of , Queensland. Its southern terminus is at a junction with Great Western Highway at Marrangaroo, north-west of Lithgow. From north to south the highway traverses South West Queensland and the North West Slopes, Orana, and Central West regions of New South Wales. Castlereagh is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Castlereagh is north-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Penrith and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. History The suburb is one of the most historic sites in Australia's colonial history, being one of the five Macquarie towns officially proclaimed on 6 December 1810. It contains five civil parishes: Ballintober, Baslick, Kilkeevin, Kilcorkey, and Kiltullagh; including the towns of Ballinlough, Bellanagare, Castlerea, and Cloonfad.
