Castle Of Barchell
The Barxell Castle, located in the municipality of Alcoy, Alicante, Spain, is a 13th-century medieval building which stands on a rocky mound in the middle of a pine forest. It is next to the CV-795 road, between Alcoy and Banyeres de Mariola. It is located in the rural place of Barxell at 800 metres altitude. It is very close to the "Solanetes" which had a small population in the Muslim era. The Barxell Castle is located in the rural place of Barxell, in the Valley of Polop, a natural enclave of great scenic value between two natural parks, the Font Roja and Serra Mariola. Alcoy, Spain
Alcoy ( ca-valencia, Alcoi) is an industrial and university city, region and municipality located in the Valencian Community, Spain. The Serpis river crosses the municipal boundary of Alcoy. The local authority reported a population of 61,135 residents in 2018. Banyeres De Mariola
Banyeres de Mariola () is a settlement and a municipality in the north of the province of Alicante (Spain), 860 metres above sea level, with a population of 7,500. The main employer is the local textile industry. The town has a Moorish castle that dates from 1214, and is surrounded by mountains, almond and olive trees. Font Roja Natural Park
The Font Roja Natural Park ( ca-valencia, Parc Natural del Carrascar de la Font Roja, es, Parque Natural del Carrascal de la Fuente Roja) is a natural park situated in Alcoy, in the autonomous community of Valencia, Spain. The Font Roja natural park was declared on April 13, 1987 natural park by the Generalitat Valenciana. It is located in the comarca of Alcoià, in the North of the province of Alicante, between the towns of Alcoy and Ibi. This natural park is one of the best preserved natural areas of the Valencian Community. The protected natural area covers 2.298 hectares and comprises mountainous alignment of El Alto de San Antonio (L'Alt de Sant Antoni), El Carrascar of the Font Roja (''El Carrascar de la Font Roja'') and ''La Teixereta''. Serra Mariola Natural Park
The Serra Mariola Natural Park (, es, Parque Natural de la Sierra de Mariola) is a mountain range in the Valencian Community, Spain, one of the most peripheral offsprings of the Baetic System. Most of its territory is included in a natural park founded in 2002, covering an area of 17,257 ha. The park is surrounded by the towns of Cocentaina and Bocairent and the cities of Ontinyent and Alcoy. It has a rectangular shape and altitudes higher than 1,000 metres, the highest peak being the Montcabrer, at 1,389 metres high. To the north the Benicadell Mountain Range has a peak bearing the same name and is 1,104 metres high. The ''Serra'' is predominantly composed of limestone. The climate is largely Mediterranean. The castle of Banyeres (Alicante), Valencian Community, (Spain) is an Almohad fortress built in the 13th century, which is situated on the ''tossal de l'Àguila'' (Valencian), English: 'Hill of the Eagle', in the geographical center of Banyeres, with an elevation of 830 meters above the sea level. The castle, irregularly shaped, has two enclosures and adapts to the ground. His most significant element is his tower of 17 meters. It has a square ground plan and three heights and is made of rammed earth. The remains of walls, also made with mud, they have pockets made in later period and dominated the arches with voussoirs. The Castle of Cocentaina, located in the municipality of Cocentaina, Alicante, Spain, is a 14th-century medieval building which stands on a rocky mound of 765 m. The castle structure, recently restored, is one of the town's symbols. The tower is a square two-story structure. On the first floor there is an open patio with a well, a chapel and a warehouse. On the upper floor, where the lords lived, there is a cornice with battlements and a path for guards. The castle is a good example of military gothic style.
