Castle Park High School
Castle Park High School, established in 1962, is a high school in Chula Vista, California. It offers Advanced Placement classes. Along with Bonita Vista High School, it is one of only two schools in the Sweetwater Union School District that offers International Baccalaureate classes. Many of Castle Park's classrooms were renovated in 2006 by Turner Construction Company, and as result classrooms now are air-conditioned with energy-efficient lighting and windows. Classrooms are also now internet ready and have new whiteboards, cabinets, flooring, and paint. The school's landscape was recently cleaned up in 2009 - 2010, and the entire school was repainted on the exterior with a more rich, earth-toned tan color in 2011. These much-needed improvements will be followed up by another phase of construction which is slated to begin within the next few years with Proposition O. Alejandro “Alex” Sanabia (born September 8, 1988) is a right-handed pitcher for the Gastonia Honey Hunters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida/Miami Marlins. Luqman Barcoo (born July 27, 1998) is an American football cornerback who is a free agent. He played college football at San Diego State University, and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. DeMarco Sampson, Jr. (born December 19, 1985) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at San Diego State University. Early life Sampson played high school football at Castle Park High School in Chula Vista, California. College career Sampson was one of only two freshmen to earn a letter in 2005. Steve Riley (American Football)
Steven Bruce Riley (November 23, 1952 – September 16, 2021) was an American professional football player who was an offensive tackle for 11 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). High school career Riley went to Castle Park High School in Chula Vista, California where he was a standout athlete on both the high school varsity basketball and football teams.
