Casselman Vikings
The Casselman Vikings are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team in Casselman, Ontario. The Vikings play in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL). Between 2014-15 and the end of the 2019-2020 seasons, the EOJHL and the CCHL set a new agreement in an attempt to create a better player development model. This resulted in the league re-branding itself as the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 (CCHL2), and shrinking to 16 teams and two divisions. The league reverted to the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League for 2021. Prior to 2015, their league was known as the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League of the Ottawa District Hockey Association. The Vikings have won the Carson Trophy three times and were the 2014 Don Johnson Memorial Cup Eastern Canadian Jr. B Champions. Casselman, Ontario
Casselman is a village in eastern Ontario, Canada, in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. Situated on the South Nation River about southeast of downtown Ottawa, along the Trans-Canada Highway 417. It is served by a station on the Montreal-Ottawa Via Rail train, twice a day in each direction. Casselman is surrounded on all sides by The Nation since Casselman citizens refused to join the fusion of municipalities. The village was named after Martin Casselman who built a sawmill near the site of the current town in 1844. Its post office was established in 1857. The village installed modern water and sewer services that became operational in 1977. Cumberland Bandits
The Cumberland Bandits are a junior ice hockey team based in Cumberland, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the National Capital Junior Hockey League but were inactive for the 2018–19 season. As of 2021, they have not returned to league play. History In 2008, the ownership of the Casselman Stars of the Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League (EOJCHL) and the town of Casselman were awarded a franchise within the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League. The new team became the Casselman Vikings. As a result, they sold their interests in the EOJCHL Casselman Stars to Claude Pothier from Navan. In 2008, the team became known as the Cumberland Bandits and played their home games out of Ray Friel in Orleans. In 2010, Claude Pothier sold the franchise to the Bedard family. Alexandria Glens
The Alexandria Glens are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Alexandria, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the Martin Division of the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 (CCHL2). They play at the Billy Gebbie Arena, also known as the Glengarry Sports Palace. In their history, the Glens have won the D. Arnold Carson Memorial Trophy twice as district Junior "B" champions. They are 12 times St-Lawrence Division Champions and 8 times Rideau/St-Lawrence Conference Champions. Kensington Vipers
The Kensington Vipers are a Canadian Junior ice hockey club from Kensington, Prince Edward Island. They are members of the Island Junior Hockey League and are 2011 and 2013 Don Johnson Memorial Cup Atlantic Junior B champions. Team history The Kensington Vipers joined the Island Junior Hockey League in 1998 after the Kensington Granites Senior hockey team had folded and the Community Gardens arena was looking for a junior hockey client. After sponsorship stints as "Don Clark Insurance" and "Valley Truss and Metal", a full-time sponsor was found in 2003, as Moase Plumbing and Heating assumed sponsorship. The Sackville Blazers are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. The Blazers play in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League and are the only team in history to have won three consecutive Don Johnson Cups as Maritime Junior B Champions. History The Sackville Blazers became a reality for the 1982/83 season. This came after seven years of hard work to gain entry into Junior hockey for Sackville. Gananoque Islanders
The Gananoque Islanders are a Canadian Senior team based out of Gananoque, Ontario. They play in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League. They were members of the Junior C Provincial Junior Hockey League from 2016-2019. For the 15/16 season they played in the Empire B Junior C Hockey League, but were members of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League a Junior B hockey league from 1986 until 2015. History The G-Men started out in the EOJHL in 1972. In 1977, they opted to move to the Ontario Hockey Association's Quinte-St. Lawrence Junior C Hockey League. In 1986, the league merged with the Central Junior C Hockey League and the G-Men returned to the EOJHL. They changed their name to the Platers that year and then the Islanders in 1993.
