Casric Stars F.C. are a South African football club based KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga. They currently play in the National First Division, after purchasing the status belonging to Free State Stars before the start of the 2022–23 National First Division. History The club were founded in 2012/13 as FC Palmeiras, and initially competed in the North West stream of the ABC Motsepe League ABC are the first three letters of the Latin script known as the alphabet. National First Division
The National First Division (NFD), officially known as the Motsepe Foundation Championship for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest league of South African club association football, football after the South African Premier Division. Both the NFD and South African Premier Division are organised by the Premier Soccer League. KwaMhlanga
KwaMhlanga is a fast growing town in the North Western corner of Mpumalanga province in South Africa. It is the spiritual home of the Ndebele tribe that settled here in the early 18th century. Kwamhlanga now consists of Kwamhlanga, Mandela, Phola, Sun City, Lithuli, Jordan, Mountain View, eMpumelelweni Village, Kingspark Village and Tweefontein. KwaMhlanga is 73 km or an hour's drive from the country’s capital, Pretoria on the R573 road. This town developed into the administrative centre for the local government, and now houses the government administration for the North Western Region of the Mpumalanga Province. The 2022–23 National First Division (called the Motsepe Foundation Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the season from September 2022 to June 2023 of South Africa's second tier of professional soccer, the National First Division. SAFA Second Division
The ABC Motsepe League, previously known as the Vodacom League between 1998 and 2012, was founded in 1998 as the current Second Division and the overall third tier of South African football. The competition is regulated by SAFA, and until 2012 had been sponsored by mobile telecommunications company Vodacom. It features 144 teams in total, divided into 9 divisions, borders decided by the 9 geo-political provinces of South Africa: Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu Natal, Northern Cape, Western Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West. Each provincial division contains 16 teams. The winner of each provincial division qualifies for the annual promotional playoffs, where the winners of two streams are promoted to the National First Division.
