Carry On Matron
''Carry On Matron'' is a 1972 British comedy film, the 23rd release in the series of 31 ''Carry On'' films (1958–1992). It was released in May 1972. It features series regulars Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims, Hattie Jacques, Bernard Bresslaw, Barbara Windsor and Kenneth Connor. This was the last ''Carry on...'' film for Terry Scott after appearing in seven films. ''Carry On Matron'' was the second and last ''Carry On...'' for Kenneth Cope. Along with the next film in the series ('' Carry On Abroad''), it features the highest number of the regular ''Carry On'' team. The only regular members missing are Jim Dale and Peter Butterworth. Dale would return belatedly for '' Carry On Columbus'' in 1992 and Butterworth returned in a major role in ''Abroad'' the following year. Gerald Thomas
Gerald Thomas (10 December 1920 – 9 November 1993) was an English film director, best known for the long-running '' Carry On'' series of British film comedies. Biography Born in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, Thomas was educated in Bristol and London, and was training in medicine when World War II began. He served four years in the British Army during the war, and upon his return to civilian life thought it too late to continue his medical studies. He began his movie career at Denham Studios, eventually becoming an assistant film editor beginning with Laurence Olivier's ''Hamlet'' (1948). His editing work included many films directed by his older brother, Ralph Thomas. His own directorial debut was the short film '' Circus Friends'' (1956), produced by the Children's Film Foundation. Brian Osborne
Brian Osborne (26 March 1940 – 8 July 2021) was an English actor. He was best known for his roles in '' Upstairs, Downstairs'' and ''The Sandbaggers''. Osborne also had minor roles in six ''Carry On'' films as well the TV series ''Carry On Laughing''. Early life Brian Osborne was born in 1940 in Bath, Somerset. He started acting while at school. Later he toured school with a children's theatre company and he played The Pied Piper of Hamelin. His first television role was in 1966 in an episode of '' Softly, Softly''. Amelia Bayntun
Amelia Bayntun (31 March 1919 – 19 January 1988) was an English stage and television actress. Career Bayntun started her stage career in 1937, when she joined the Bristol Unity Players. During World War II, she was in ''Stars in Battledress'' performing in Italy and Austria after the end of hostilities. In between engagements, she ran a pub with her husband, and occasionally sang as Marie Lloyd at London's Players' Theatre. In 1960 she appeared on stage in Joan Littlewood's production of '' Sparrers Can't Sing'' at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, and in its later West End transfer. Derek Francis (7 November 1923 – 27 March 1984) was an English comedy and character actor. Biography Francis was a regular in the Carry On film players, appearing in six of the films in the 1960s and 1970s. Patricia Amy Rowlands (19 January 1931 – 22 January 2005) was an English actress who is best remembered for her roles in the ''Carry On'' films series, as Betty Lewis in the ITV Thames sitcom '' Bless This House'', and as Alice Meredith in the Yorkshire Television sitcom '' Hallelujah!''.
