Carroll A. Campbell
Carroll Ashmore Campbell Jr. (July 24, 1940December 7, 2005), was an American Republican Party politician who served as the 112th governor of South Carolina from 1987 to 1995. Prior to this, he served as a member of the South Carolina Senate representing the 2nd district from 1977 to 1978 and as a congressman representing South Carolina's 4th district from 1979 to 1987. Early life Campbell was born in Greenville, South Carolina, the oldest of six children. His father, Carroll A. Campbell Sr., worked in the textile mills and the furniture business, and later owned a motel in Garden City, South Carolina. Campbell grew up in Greenville and the nearby cities of Liberty and Simpsonville. The governor of South Carolina is the head of government of South Carolina. The governor is the '' ex officio'' commander-in-chief of the National Guard when not called into federal service. McCallie School
The McCallie School is a boys University-preparatory school, college-preparatory school located on Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. The school was founded in 1905 and now has 250 boarding students in grades 9–12 and 669 day students in grades 6–12. History Brothers Spencer Jarnigan and James "Park" McCallie founded the school in 1905, which remained under the control of the family until a Board of Trustees assumed management of the school in 1937. Founded as an all-boys school, McCallie became a military school in the wake of World War I, with students wearing uniforms and participating in military drills. In 1970, McCallie dropped its military program as a result of admission challenges during the Vietnam era.
