Carolus Maneken
Carolus Maneken or Carolus Virulus (or any of the spelling variations of the name, including Karel and Karolus for Carolus, Menneken, Mennicken or Meniken for Maneken, and Viruli for Virulus) (1419?-1493) was a professor at the Leuven University and the author of the ''Formulae Epistularum''. Carolus Maneken was born circa 1419 in either Ghent or Kassel. He studied in Leuven, and was from 1437 until his death in 1493 the first director of the "Collège du Lys" or Paedagogium Lilii, one of the four colleges of the Arts Faculty. The ''Formulae Epistolarum'', also known as ''Epistule Caroli'', was a book first published in 1476 by Johann Veldener in Leuven, and reprinted dozens of times over the next few decades. Francis Carolus Eeles
Francis Carolus Eeles (1876 – 17 August 1954, Dunster'Obituary: Dr. F. C. Eeles', ''The Times'', 18 August 1954) was an English liturgical scholar and ecclesiastical historian. Eeles was on the Advisory Committee of the Warham Guild, established in 1912. He gave the Rhind Lectures in 1914, on ''The Liturgy and Ceremonial of The Mediaeval Church in Scotland''. Eeles was the first secretary of the Central Council for the Care of Churches, serving as honorary secretary from 1917 and paid secretary from 1926 until his death in 1954. He was made OBE in 1938. In 1939 he began systematically collecting details of English parish churches in order that they might be restored after wartime damage. Eeles bequeathed his books to form the nucleus of the library of the Council for the Care of Churches. His papers are held at the Church of England Record Centre. Christianus Carolus Henricus Van Der Aa
Christianus Carolus Henricus van der Aa (25 August 1718 – 23 September 1793) was a Lutheran pastor in Haarlem and secretary of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities. Life Christianus Carolus Henricus was born in Zwolle, where his father Balduinus also worked as a pastor. He studied theology first in Leiden, and later in Jena. On 22 March 1739 he became a Lutheran pastor in Alkmaar, then on August 12, 1742, become a preacher in Haarlem (he had previously been twice, thanks to a job in Gouda). In Haarlem, at the creation of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities in 1752, where he would play a major role, he was appointed as secretary. Thanks to this he entered into two equally honourable positions, namely at The Hague in 1755 and later in Batavia, Dutch East Indies Batavia was the capital of the Dutch East Indies. Baron Carl Gustaf Garibaldi Fabian "Carolus" Wrede af Elimä (27 December 1860 — 15 May 1927) was a Grand Duchy of Finland, Finnish industrialist. Wrede studied five grades in Turku and in 1881 started his career at Hackman, Hackman & Co. in Viipuri. After a short entrepreneurship period in 1884–1887 he returned to the company to lead Sorsakoski sawmill in Leppävirta. During Wrede's leadership the portfolio moved from timber to cutlery. In 1902 Wrede bought Lehtoniemi (company), Lehtoniemi Shipyard. Wrede moved to Turku in 1906 and became manager of Åbo Jernmanufaktur and Åbo Waggonfabrik. In 1922–1924 he managed shipbuilder Crichton (Turku shipyard), Ab Crichton and insurance company Sampo Group, Sampo. Carolus Souliaert (died 1540?) (also known as: Swillaert, Swillart, Swilliart) was a Dutch composer active in the first half of the 16th century. Very little is known about the life of this composer. A few chansons composed by Souliaert/ Swillaert to texts in Dutch were published by Tielman Susato in his collections of Dutch chansons. In ''Het Ierste musyck Boexken'', the first collection printed in 1551, there is one chanson by Carolus Swillart or Swilliart (different spellings in different part books): ''Myn liefkens bruyn ooghen''. Carolus Sigonius
Carolus Sigonius (Carlo Sigonio or Sigone) (c. 152412 August 1584) was an Italian humanist, born in Modena. Biography Having studied Greek under the learned Franciscus Portus of Candia, he attended the philosophical schools of Bologna and Pavia, and in 1545 was elected professor of Greek in his native place in succession to Portus. In 1552 he was appointed to a professorship at Venice, which he exchanged for the chair of eloquence at Padua in 1560. To this period of his life belongs a quarrel with Robortello, due to the publication by Sigonius of a treatise ''De nominibus Romanorum'', in which he corrected several errors in a work of Robertelli on the same subject. The quarrel was patched up by the intervention of Cardinal Seripando (who purposely stopped on his way to the Council of Trent), but broke out again in 1562, when the two rivals found themselves colleagues at Padua. Charles XII, sometimes Carl XII ( sv, Karl XII) or Carolus Rex (17 June 1682 – 30 November 1718 O.S.), was King of Sweden (including current Finland) from 1697 to 1718. Carolus Johannes Reinecke was the rector of the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, situated in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Roots Reinecke was born on 21 December 1941, in Krugersdorp, South Africa. He was the son of Carolus Johannes Reinecke and Cornelia Marthina van Dyk. He passed standard 10 (grade 12) at Piet Potgieter High in Potgietersrus, Northern Transvaal.
