Caroline Plumb
Caroline Bayantai Plumb OBE (born 23 November 1978) is a British internet entrepreneur and businesswoman. She is the current CEO and co-founder of Fluidly and previously served as a CEO of FreshMinds. She also currently serves as a non executive director of AIM-listed Mercia Technologies. In 2019, she was named as one of the most important women personalities in UK Tech 100 list. Career Plumb was born in Manchester on 23 November 1978, the daughter of Stephen and Eleanor. She went to Bolton School Girls' Division. She then studied at St John's College, Oxford and gained a first class degree in Engineering, Economics and Management. After graduating she began her career as an entrepreneur and initiated FreshMinds as a research consultancy in 2000 with colleague Charlie Osmond. She left Freshminds and co-founded Fluidly, a cash flow management software business company and served as its chief executive officer until 2021. Urgunge Onon
Urgunge Onon ( mn, , Өргөнгөө Онон, translit=Örgöngge Onon January 1, 1920 – December 2015, also known as Peter Onon) was a Daur Mongol historian and Mongolist. He was a founding member of the Mongolian studies program at the University of Leeds and co-founder of the Mongolia and Inner Asia Studies Unit (MIASU) at the University of Cambridge. Biography Urgunge was born in 1920 in a village in North-Eastern Inner Mongolia, close to the border with Manchuria. A member of the Onon clan of Daur Mongols, growing up he was interested in shamanistic beliefs and rituals still surviving amongst his people. Amidst the growing instability in the area due to the Japanese invasion of Manchuria, his family were able to send him to a Japanese boarding school near Qiqihar, eventually becoming proficient in Japanese and being selected for university in Japan. Daurs
The Daur people ( Khalkha Mongolian: Дагуур, ''Daguur''; ) are a Mongolic people in Northeast China. The Daur form one of the 56 ethnic groups officially recognised in the People's Republic of China. They numbered 131,992 according to the latest census (2010) and most of them live in Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner in Hulun Buir, Inner Mongolia and Meilisi Daur District in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang of China. There are also some near Tacheng in Xinjiang, where their ancestors were moved during the Qing dynasty. Language The Dagur language is a Mongolic language. There is a Latin-based orthography which has been devised by a native Daur scholar.
