Caroline Farberger
Caroline Farberger (born 1967) is a Swedish business executive currently working as chairwoman, board advisor and board member on several boards. She previously served as the CEO of the Swedish company , part of the ICA Group, from 2016 to 2022. Formerly having lived as a man, Farberger is known for being the first Swedish top CEO coming out as transgender. She came out at the age of 49. Farberger grew up in Uddevalla and Lerum. She completed military service as a company commander at the Älvsborg Regiment (I15). ICA Gruppen
ICA Gruppen AB (publ) (; "ICA Group"; from ''Inköpscentralernas aktiebolag'', ) (formerly Hakon Invest AB) is a Swedish retailer franchise with a focus on food and health. The group also owns a bank, real estate division and a pharmacy chain. The company was started in 1938, based on a business model which was introduced by Hakonbolagen in 1917. Most of its operations are based in Scandinavia, and the company is the second largest retail company in the Nordic countries. The company was owned by the participating retailers until 2000 when half of the company was sold to the Dutch retailer Ahold. It acquired a further 10% in 2004. The dot-com bubble (dot-com boom, tech bubble, or the Internet bubble) was a stock market bubble in the late 1990s, a period of massive growth in the use and adoption of the Internet. Between 1995 and its peak in March 2000, the Nasdaq Composite stock market index rose 400%, only to fall 78% from its peak by October 2002, giving up all its gains during the bubble. Transgender
A transgender (often abbreviated as trans) person is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with their sex assigned at birth. Many transgender people experience dysphoria, which they seek to alleviate through transitioning, often adopting a different name and set of pronouns in the process. Additionally, they may undergo sex reassignment therapies such as hormone therapy and sex reassignment surgery to more closely align their primary and secondary sex characteristics with their gender identity. Not all transgender people desire these treatments, however, and others may be unable to access them for financial or medical reasons.
