Caroline Demmer
Caroline Friederike Wilhelmine Demmer (''née'' Krüger; 12 February 1764 – 14 April 1813) was a German-Austrian actress and singer. Life Born in Berlin, Krüger was the sister of actor Karl Friedrich Krüger (1765–1828) and began her theater career in 1779 at the age of 15. In 1786–87 she was engaged by Joseph Bellomo in Weimar, in 1788–89 by Gustav Friedrich Wilhelm Großmann, then by the Dietrichsche Gesellschaft, where she married the singer and actor from Cologne Carl Demmer. On 16 November 1790 she wrote an invitation tender to Düsseldorf to Hofkammerrat Franz Kirms in Weimar and applied again for a position there. She mentioned: "But I must tell you beforehand that I... changed and married Mr. Demmer' brother who was with me in Weimar at the time. My husband is the first tenorist and plays the first also second young lovers in the comedy..., he has a very pleasant voice and is firmly musical." Friedrich Ludwig Schröder
Friedrich Ludwig Schröder (3 November 1744 – 3 September 1816) was a German actor, manager, dramatist and prominent masonic leader. He was born in Schwerin. Shortly after his birth, his mother, Sophie Charlotte Bierreichel (1714–1792), separated from her husband, and, joining a theatrical company, toured with success in Poland and Russia. Subsequently, she married Konrad Ernst Ackermann and appeared with his company in many German cities, finally settling in Hamburg. Young Schröder early showed considerable talent, but his childhood was rendered so unhappy by his stepfather that he ran away from home and learned the trade of a shoemaker. He rejoined his parents, however, in 1759, and became an actor. In 1764 he appeared with the Ackermann company in Hamburg, playing leading comedy parts; but these he soon exchanged for the tragic roles in which he became famous. Ernst Pasqué
Ernst Heinrich Anton Pasqué (3 September 1821 – 20 March 1892) was a German operatic baritone, opera director, theatre director, writer and librettist. Life Born in Cologne, at the age of 17 Pasqué decided to have his voice trained. At the instigation of Daniel-François-Esprit Auber, he was accepted at the Conservatoire de Paris. There he was a pupil of the tenor Antoine Ponchard. On 4 May 1844 he made his debut as a "hunter" in the "night camp" in Mainz. He came in 1845 as baritone to the Staatstheater Darmstadt. From 1846 to 1847 he was active in Leipzig, but then went back to Darmstadt. In the summer of 1855 he was director of the Deutsche Oper in Amsterdam, and from 1856 to 1859 opera director in Weimar. After illness and the loss of his voice he became an economic inspector in Darmstadt in 1859. Ferdinand Raimund
Ferdinand Raimund (born Ferdinand Jakob Raimann; 1 June 1790 – 5 September 1836, Pottenstein, Lower Austria) was an Austrian actor and dramatist. Life and work He was born in Vienna as a son of Bohemian woodturning master craftsman Jakob Raimann. In 1811, he acted at the Theater in der Josefstadt, and, in 1817 at the Leopoldstädter Theater. In 1823 he produced his first play, ''Der Barometermacher auf der Zauberinsel'', which was followed by ''Der Diamant des Geisterkönigs'' (1824). The still popular ''Bauer als Millionär'' (1826), ''Der Alpenkönig und der Menschenfeind'' (1828) and ''Der Verschwender'' (1834), incidental music by Conradin Kreutzer, are Raimund's masterpieces. Raimund's comedies are still frequently performed in Germany and Austria. Johann Nestroy
Johann Nepomuk Eduard Ambrosius Nestroy (; 7 December 1801 – 25 May 1862) was a singer, actor and playwright in the popular Austrian tradition of the Biedermeier period and its immediate aftermath. He participated in the 1848 revolutions and his work reflects the new liberal spirit then spreading throughout Europe. Career Nestroy was born in Vienna, where he was a law student from 1817 to 1822, before abandoning his studies to become a singer. He joined the Theater am Kärntnertor, beginning with Sarastro in ''The Magic Flute'' on 24 August 1822.
