Carole Lin
Carole Lin () is a Singaporean actress. She was prominently a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1995 to 2009. Career Lin joined MediaCorp after taking part in Star Search Singapore 1995. She shot to fame for her role in ''The Price of Peace'' and won the Best Actress award at the Star Awards 1997. Hers and Hong Huifang's rape scenes were named the Top 5 Most Memorable Scenes at the Star Awards 2007 anniversary special. She left MediaCorp in 2009 after her second marriage and moved abroad. Metamorphosis ( "Breaking Out Of The Shell" in Chinese) is a Singaporean Chinese action thriller drama which is being telecast on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp TV Channel 8. Star Awards 2005 was the 12th Star Awards ceremony, held on 4 December 2005. It was part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. Following MediaCorp's merger with SPH MediaWorks on 1 January 2005, the nominees included artistes from the former SPH MediaWorks Channel U, many of whom were former employees of MediaCorp and its predecessor Television Corporation of Singapore. MediaCorp TV Channel 8 broadcast the awards ceremony from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm while SPH MediaWorks Channel U (now MediaCorp TV Channel U), aired the ceremony for the first time and began broadcasting the ceremony at 7:30 pm. ''Zero to Hero'' (阴差阳错) was a MediaCorp TV Channel 8 comedy drama series which aired from 16 May 2005 to 10 June 2005. The series is unique as it portrays the traditional Chinese beliefs of the netherworld and afterlife (e.g. 18 levels of hell, incarnation) in a light-hearted way. Synopsis The burning of cash in the form of joss paper and other material items such as mobile phones in the form of cardboard were depicted in the series. It is a traditional Chinese belief that the deceased would receive those items burned for them in the netherworld. Xie Jizu is a police officer who often spends his free time gambling rather than caring for his family. He dies in a car accident and went to the netherworld, where he befriends some spirits and hear the sad tales of how they died.
