Carnage (band)
Carnage was a Swedish death metal band whose members later went on to found Dismember and Arch Enemy. The band was formed by Michael Amott and Johan Liiva in 1988. They released only one album before dissolving in 1991. History Carnage was founded at the end of 1988 by Michael Amott and Johan Liiva in Växjö, Sweden.Ekeroth:"Swedish Death Metal" (2006) pag. 119-120 They released two-widely traded demos ''The Day Man Lost'' and ''Infestation of Evil'' in 1989. Plagued by lineup changes, Carnage eventually released their only album, '' Dark Recollections'' in 1990 when Michael Amott was the sole remaining founding member. The album was released as a split CD with Cadaver's '' Hallucinating Anxiety'' on Necrosis Records, a subdivision of Earache Records, and was re-released with bonus tracks in 2000. Johan Liiva
Johan Patrik Mattias Liiva (born 18 November 1970) is a Swedish extreme metal vocalist, most widely recognized as the founding vocalist of melodic death metal band Arch Enemy, as well as a former member of Carnage, Furbowl and NonExist. He is currently working as vocalist with Hearse. Personal life Johan Liiva is married to Alexandra Adler, who is of Ukrainian origin. The wedding ceremony was held in Ukraine on 14 October 2015. Career Carnage Johan Liiva formed Carnage with his friend Michael Amott in 1988, and appeared on two demo tapes "The Day Man Lost" and "Infestation Of Evil", but left the band before their debut album was recorded in 1990. Dark Recollections
''Dark Recollections'' is the only album by the death metal band, Carnage, released in 1990. It was originally released as a split CD with Cadaver's debut album '' Hallucinating Anxiety'' on the Earache Records sublabel Necrosis. Some of the songs were later re-recorded by Dismember. ''Dark Recollections'' is the only album released by Carnage; the band had broken up by the time the album hit the streets. It was later reissued by Earache Records with eight additional tracks, taken from the demos for ''The Day Man Lost'' and ''Infestation of Evil''. "Deranged From Blood", "Death Evocation", "Blasphemies Of The Flesh" and "Self Dissection" previously appeared on Dismember demos circa 1988–1989, before Fred Estby and David Blomqvist joined Carnage. Carcass are an English extreme metal band from Liverpool, formed in 1985. The band have gone through several line-up changes, leaving guitarist Bill Steer and bassist-vocalist Jeff Walker as the only constant members. They broke up in 1996, but reformed in 2007 without one of its original members, drummer Ken Owen, due to health reasons. To date, the band have released seven studio albums, two compilation albums, four EPs, two demo albums, one video album, and six music videos. Carcass are regarded as pioneers of the goregrind genre. Their early work was also tagged as "splatter death metal", and "hardgore" on account of their morbid lyrics and gruesome album covers. Cadaver (band)
Cadaver is a death metal band from Råde and Fredrikstad, Norway. The band had a brief venture in the early 1990s before splitting in 1993. Cadaver would eventually re-emerge as Cadaver Inc. in 1999 which consisted of only one founding member. For their next album, they fell back to using their original band name Cadaver and ended their activities in 2004, with their final live show in 2005. The band reformed in April 2019 and released their fifth album in 2020. History Anders Odden and Ole Bjerkebakke founded Cadaver in 1988. They were later joined by bassist René Jansen and in 1989 the trio released the "Abnormal Deformity" demo.
