Carlo Lievore
Carlo Lievore (10 November 1937 – 9 October 2002) was an Italian javelin thrower. Biography He won one medal, at senior level, at the International athletics competitions. He competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics and in the 1964 Summer Olympics. His older brother Giovanni Lievore was also a javelin thrower. He has 42 caps in national team from 1956 to 1971. The Italian Athletics Championships ( it, Campionati italiani assoluti di atletica leggera) are the national championships in athletics, organised every year by the Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera. The first edition, four races only, was held in 1906 at Arena Civica in Milan, just after the foundation of the Federazione Podistica Italiana and with the organization of ''La Gazzetta dello Sport''. Since then, 110 editions were held with the only exceptions of the years 1915-1918 and 1944. During 1945, only athletes of Northern Italy could participate but FIDAL considered this edition as an official one. To the running races, in 1913 the field events were added. Each thrower had three attempts to reach that standard. Since only one thrower made the mark the next eleven farthest-throwing athletes also advanced to meet the minimum 12 in the final. Final The scores from the qualification round were ignored in the final. Each thrower received three more attempts.
