Carlo J. Caparas
Carlo Magno Jose Caparas (born December 15, 1948) is a Filipino comic strip creator and writer-turned film director and producer. He is best known for creating such Filipino superheroes and comic book characters as ''Panday'', '' Bakekang'', ''Totoy Bato'', ''Joaquin Bordado'', ''Kamagong'', ''Kamandag'', ''Elias Paniki'', ''Tasya Fantasya'', ''Gagambino'', '' Pieta'' and ''Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang'', among others. He is also known as a director of numerous massacre films such as ''Kuratong Baleleng'' and ''The Cory Quirino Kidnap: NBI Files''. Caparas was awarded the 2008 Sagisag Balagtas Award. Pampanga, officially the Province of Pampanga ( pam, Lalawigan ning Pampanga; tl, Lalawigan ng Pampanga ), is a province in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. ''Carlo J. Caparas' Gagambino'' is a Philippine television drama fantasy series broadcast by GMA Network. The series is based from Carlo J. Caparas' graphic novel of the same title. Directed by Topel Lee and Don Michael Perez, it stars Dennis Trillo in the title role. It premiered on October 20, 2008 on the network's Telebabad line up replacing ''Dyesebel''. The series concluded on February 20, 2009 with a total of 90 episodes. It was replaced by ''Totoy Bato'' in its timeslot. Production When GMA Network bought the rights to Carlo J. The Second EDSA Revolution, also known as the Second People Power Revolution, EDSA 2001, or EDSA II (pronounced ''EDSA Two'' or ''EDSA Dos''), was a political protest from January 17–20, 2001, which peacefully overthrew the government of Joseph Estrada, the thirteenth president of the Philippines. The Camp Cawa-Cawa siege (Filipino: ''Pagkubkob sa Kampo Cawa-Cawa'', Chavacano: ''Sitio de Campo Cawa-Cawa'') was a siege of a Philippine Constabulary-Integrated National Police camp by security forces of the Philippines on January 3–5, 1989, after a rogue policeman took the camp's ranking officer hostage. Events Rizal Alih, a patrolman, and several other men had been detained pending an investigation into their alleged involvement in the murder of Zamboanga City Mayor Cesar Climaco on 14 November 1984. Gen. Eduardo Batalla, the regional commander of the PC-INP who had his office at the camp, had made a decision to have the detained men transferred to Manila; however, Alih refused to cooperate. Kuratong Baleleng was an organized crime syndicate in the Philippines that once was an anti-communist, vigilante group. Once the largest syndicate in the country, they received nationwide attention due to their alleged end in a shootout with the Philippine National Police in May 1995 in Quezon City.
