Carlisle is a community in Flamborough, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The town lies about north of Waterdown. Notable attractions The downtown of Carlisle is located at the crossroads of Carlisle and Centre Roads. The Community Centre includes an ice rink, where many events and fundraisers are held by both local churches and the Optimist Club. The surrounding grounds include a baseball diamond, tennis court, swings and a play structure. Funds for the play structure were raised by Norah Kraft and Jeff Doyle, with their children and friends from Balaclava Public School deciding on the layout of the structure. The Hamilton Public Library, was once a TD bank until late august 2022. Carlisle was once host to Bluegrass Canada, a Folk Festival which kicked off the beginning of every summer. Flamborough is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Waterdown is a village in Canada which since 2001 has been a community of Hamilton, Ontario. Waterdown is approximately 60 km west of downtown Toronto. On January 1, 2001 the new city of Hamilton was formed from the amalgamation of six municipalities: Hamilton, Ontario, Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough, Glanbrook, and Stoney Creek. Before amalgamation, the "old" City of Hamilton had 331,121 Hamiltonians divided into 100 neighbourhoods. The new amalgamated city has 490,268 people in over 200 neighbourhoods. Progreston Falls
The city of Hamilton in Ontario, Canada is home to more than 100 waterfalls and cascades, most of which are on or near the Bruce Trail as it winds through the Niagara Escarpment. Ontario's internationally recognized Niagara Escarpment provides perfect geological conditions for waterfalls to occur, from Tobermory to Niagara Falls.
