Carles Riera I Albert
Carles Riera i Albert (born 1960) is a Catalan sociologist and politician. During the 1980s he was a member and spokesman for the Call to Solidarity in Defense of Catalan Language, Culture and Nation, in the 90s he was a member of the secretariat of the People's Unity Assembly and currently is a member of Endavant. In the Catalan elections held on 27 September 2015, he formed part of the Popular Unity Candidacy–Constituent Call coalition which won 10 seats in the 135-member Parliament of Catalonia. The Popular Unity Candidacy ( ca, Candidatura d'Unitat Popular, , CUP) is a left-wing to far-left pro-Catalan independence political party active primarily in Catalonia, where it has political representation, but also in other autonomous communities in Spain it considers to be part of the Catalan Countries. People's Unity Assembly
The People's Unity Assembly (Catalan: ''Assemblea d'Unitat Popular'', AUP) was an independentist organisation and movement active between 1993 and 1996. The AUP was created by the Movement for Defence of the Land- IDP Faction (MDT-IDP), militants of La Crida, different local political organisations and independents. The AUP was close to the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC). The AUP had the support of the mayors of Arbúcies and Sant Pere de Ribes. History The AUP was very active during its existence. Endavant–Organització Socialista d'Alliberament Nacional (in Catalan: ''Forward–Socialist Organisation of National Liberation'', Endavant (OSAN); commonly referred to only as Endavant) is an independentist, socialist and feminist Spanish political party in the Catalan Countries. The 2015 Catalan regional election was held on Sunday, 27 September 2015, electing the 11th Parliament of the autonomous community of Catalonia. All 135 seats in the Parliament were up for election. The 2017 Catalan regional election was held on Thursday, 21 December 2017 to elect the 12th Parliament of the autonomous community of Catalonia. All 135 seats in the Parliament were up for election.
