Carl W. Thompson
Carl William Thompson (March 15, 1914September 19, 2002) was an American lawyer and Democratic politician. He served 26 years in the Wisconsin State Senate and six years in the State Assembly, representing Dane County. He was an unsuccessful candidate for Governor of Wisconsin in 1948 and 1950. Biography Carl William Thompson was born on March 15, 1914, in Washington, D.C., to Carl W. Thompson, Sr., and Hannah Hegge Thompson. He graduated from high school in Stoughton, Wisconsin, before graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin Law School. During World War II, he served in the United States Army. Thompson died on September 19, 2002, in Stoughton. He was married with four children. Wisconsin's 16th State Senate District
The 16th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district comprises much of eastern Dane County. It contains the east side of Wisconsin's capital city, Madison, as well as the cities of Monona and Sun Prairie, and the northern half of the city of Fitchburg. Current elected officials Melissa Agard is the senator representing the 16th district. She was first elected in the 2020 general election. Before serving as senator, she served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2013 to 2021, representing Madison's north side. Robert Kirkland Henry
Robert Kirkland Henry (February 9, 1890 – November 20, 1946) was a banker and politician from Wisconsin. As a Democrat, he served as Wisconsin State Treasurer. As a Republican, he served in the United States House of Representatives. Biography Henry was born in Jefferson, Wisconsin on February 9, 1890. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison for two years, and then began a career in banking.
