Carl Valentin Falsen
Carl Valentin Falsen (27 May 1787–14 April 1852) was a Norwegian civil servant, a county governor, and member of the Storting. Biography Falsen was born in Christiania, Norway. He was the son of Norwegian Chief Justice Enevold De Falsen (1755–1808) and Anna Henrike Petronelle Mathiesen (1762–1825). He was the brother of Christian Magnus Falsen. Both his father and grandfather were senior justice officials. He was trained in the law and took his examination as a Candidate of Law (''cand. Jur.'') at the University of Copenhagen in 1806. Falsen was the town clerk for Trondheim starting in 1809. He was hired as the town bailiff for Trondheim from 1821 until 1826. In 1826, he served as the magistrate judge for Eiker, Sigdal, and Modum. Fredrik Wilhelm Wedel-Jarlsberg (1787-1863) was a Danish-Norwegian baron and government official. He was a descendant of the Counts of Wedel-Jarlsberg. He served as the County Governor of Finnmark county from 1811 until 1813. He was then transferred to Bratsberg county to be the County Governor there. He held that post from 1813 until 1838. The Royal Order of the Polar Star (Swedish: ''Kungliga Nordstjärneorden'') is a Swedish order of chivalry created by King Frederick I on 23 February 1748, together with the Order of the Sword and the Order of the Seraphim. Buskerud () is a former county and a current electoral district in Norway, bordering Akershus, Oslo, Oppland, Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Telemark and Vestfold. The county governor of Vest-Agder county in Norway represented the central government administration in the county. The office of county governor is a government agency of the Kingdom of Norway; the title was (before 1919) and then (after 1919).
