Carl Hollitzer
Carl Leopold Hollitzer (born in Bad Deutsch-Altenburg, Lower Austria; died in Rekawinkel, Lower Austria, Austria) was an Austrian caricaturist, singer and cabaret artist. Biography Hollitzer was born and raised in Deutsch-Altenburg. His family had a construction business. His father, Karl Hollitzer, was the local judge from 1876 until 1848 and from 1848 until 1884 he was elected mayor of Bad Deutsch-Altenburg. As owner of a stone pit he made a fortune with contracts from the time the Danube was regulated. The young Carl Leopold studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. From 1906 on, he starred as a singer in the first Viennese cabaret stages, the cabaret ''Nachtlicht'' and the Cabaret Fledermaus. His second wife Gertrude Barrison was also a singer and they appeared many times together on the stage of the Cabaret Fledermaus. Bad Deutsch-Altenburg, until 1928 Deutsch-Altenburg ( hu, Németóvár) is a market town and spa in the district of Bruck an der Leitha in Lower Austria in Austria. Geography The town lies in the Lower Austrian Industrieviertel region, on the right riverbank of the Danube River and the Danube-Auen National Park, south-west of Hainburg an der Donau and DevÃn Gate. Egon Friedell (born ''Egon Friedmann''; 21 January 1878, in Vienna – 16 March 1938, in Vienna) was a prominent Austrian cultural historian, playwright, actor and Kabarett performer, journalist and theatre critic. Friedell has been described as a polymath. Before 1916, he was also known by his pen name Egon Friedländer. The Österreichische Galerie Belvedere is a museum housed in the Belvedere palace, in Vienna, Austria. The Belvedere palaces were the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663–1736).
