Carey Wilson (writer)
Carey Wilson (May 19, 1889 – February 1, 1962) was an American screenwriter, voice actor, and producer. Life and career Born in 1889 in Philadelphia, Wilson's screenplays include '' Ben-Hur'' (1925), ''Mutiny on the Bounty'' (1935), and ''The Great Heart'' (1938). His credits as producer include '' Green Dolphin Street'' (1947). He also narrated many nuclear test films, produced by the Atomic Energy Commission – now the United States Department of Energy – and by the United States Department of Defense, including ones on Operation Sandstone (1948) and Operation Greenhouse (1951). Wilson was one of the thirty-six Hollywood pioneers who founded the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1927. He also collaborated with Jean Harlow on her novel ''Today is Tonight''. Hollywood Boulevard is a major east–west street in Los Angeles, California. It begins in the east at Sunset Boulevard in the Los Feliz district and proceeds to the west as a major thoroughfare through Little Armenia and Thai Town, Hollywood. ''Wine of Youth'' is a 1924 American silent comedy drama film directed by King Vidor, and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, shortly after the merger which created MGM in April 1924. Vidor did not consider it important enough to mention in his autobiography, although it did advance the careers of three young stars-to-be: Ben Lyon, Eleanor Boardman, and William Haines.
