Carex Caespititia
''Carex caespititia'', also known as cong sheng tai cao, is a tussock-forming species of perennial sedge in the family Cyperaceae. It is native to parts of Asia from Assam in northern India in the west to central China in the east. The sedge has a long rhizome and slender culms with a triangular cross-section that are that have a rough texture above. The green leaves are usually shorter than the culms and have a linear blade with a width of with rough margins. Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck (14 February 1776 – 16 March 1858) was a prolific German botanist, physician, zoologist, and natural philosopher. He was a contemporary of Goethe and was born within the lifetime of Linnaeus. He described approximately 7,000 plant species (almost as many as Linnaeus himself). His last official act as president of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina was to admit Charles Darwin as a member. He was the author of numerous monographs on botany and zoology. His best-known works deal with fungi. Biography Nees von Esenbeck was born in Schloss Reichenberg near Reichelsheim (Odenwald).
