Charles Capps
Charles Emmitt Capps (January 4, 1934 – February 23, 2014) was an American Christian preacher and teacher in the Word of Faith movement. During his lifetime, Capps had influenced the Word of Faith movement through various publications, as well as, directly in his role as a preacher. Biography Charles Capps was born on January 4, 1934, to Emmet and Minnie Capps in Burmmitt, Arkansas. His family owned a farm, on which he lived as a child. Immediately after graduating from high-school, Capps followed this tradition and began farming in the Lonoke County area. By the age of seventeen, he could fly civilian aircraft and became a member of the "flying farmers". In 1951, he was married to Peggy Capps, and by 1978, he had retired on being a farmer to pursue full-time ministry. During his middle age, Capps enjoyed rising popularity as a preacher and religious figure, and often spoke at seminars and conventions. Edward Capps
Edward Capps, Sr. (December 21, 1866 – August 21, 1950) was an American diplomat, professor of Philology, and Colonel. Biography Capps was born in Jacksonville, Illinois on December 21, 1866. He would go on to graduate from Illinois College in 1887 and later receive a PhD from Yale in 1891. In July of the following year, he would get married. In 1890 Capps was appointed tutor at Yale. In 1892 he joined the faculty of the newly founded University of Chicago as professor of Greek language and literature, remaining so until 1907. In 1903 he was special lecturer at Harvard, and during the next two years studied at Athens and Halle. During 1906–7 he was managing editor of Classical Philology, in 1907 was elected president of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South. Hahn William Capps (December 16, 1903 – September 14, 1998) was an American entomologist. Biography Capps was born in 1903. In 1929, he received his bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas. In 1930, he joined the United States Department of Agriculture, and the same year became plant quarantine inspector for the Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantine. Lois Ragnhild Capps (née Grimsrud; January 10, 1938) is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for from 1998 to 2017. She is a member of the Democratic Party. The district, numbered as the 22nd District from 1998 to 2003 and the 23rd from 2003 to 2013, includes all of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties and a portion of Ventura County. Capps served on the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where she was a member of the Energy and Air Quality Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on Health. Steve Capps is an American computer programmer, who was one of the designers of the original Apple Macintosh computer. Capps started working at the Xerox Corporation while still a computer science student at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 1981, Capps started working for Apple on the Lisa project and he continued his work on the Macintosh, principally writing the Finder (along with Bruce Horn) and Macintosh system utilities—such as ResEdit. Walter Holden Capps (May 5, 1934 – October 28, 1997) was an American academic and politician. He served as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing California's 22nd congressional district from January 1997 until his death nine months later.
