The Capital Football W-League is an association football league competition run by Capital Football for women's club teams located in the southern and central parts of the North Island, New Zealand. It is at the second level of New Zealand Football, below the national association-based Women's National League, and is the highest level of club based football available to teams within the Capital region. League history The Capital Football W-League was formed for the 2017 season after a review of the end of the 2016 Women's Central League season. It was previously known as the Women's Central League. Seatoun AFC is a football club in New Zealand, based in the Wellington suburb of Seatoun. The club was founded in 1909 by Charlie Webb. One of the strongest clubs in the country during the 1950s, it won the national knockout Chatham Cup in 1957 and 1958. Massey University Football Club
Massey University Football Club is an amateur football club in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Their top men's and top women's teams play in their respective Central Football Federation League. Their home ground is at the university campus. History Established in 1948, Massey spent their first few years playing in the local Manawatū league and University tournaments before they had a more established presence from 1970 onward. Traditionally the club had been for students and ex-students from the local Massey University, but they do welcome players that aren't associated with the University now. Newtown Park
Newtown Park is a multi-purpose stadium in Wellington, New Zealand, owned and managed by Wellington City Council. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer) matches in winter, and athletic events in summer. Newtown Park is the primary athletics stadium for the Wellington region. Bookings of the venue are managed by the owner, Wellington City Council. Waterside Karori
Waterside Karori AFC is an association football club in Karori, a suburb of Wellington, New Zealand. They currently play in the Capital Football (New Zealand), Capital Football Central League (New Zealand), Central League. History Waterside Karori was formed in 1987 when Karori Swifts merged with Waterside. These two clubs had contrasting origins: Swifts were founded in 1894 from a Sunday School, and Waterside were founded in 1921 by dock workers. The current Waterside Karori club is still nicknamed Wharfies. Waterside were originally based at Kaiwharawhara at Wellington's waterfront, a location still used by Waterside Karori. Memorial Park, also known as Trust House Memorial Park for sponsorship reasons and formerly as Cameron and Soldiers' Park, is a sports facility which is located in Masterton, Wellington region, New Zealand. Masterton ( mi, Whakaoriori), a large town in the Greater Wellington Region of New Zealand, operates as the seat of the Masterton District (a territorial authority or local-government district). Wairarapa United is a Association football, football club based in Masterton, New Zealand and are currently competing in the Central Premier League, Central League. Club history The club was formed by the merger of Masterton (soccer), Masterton and Carterton in 1996. The club has competed in the Central Premier League, Central League since 2009. In Wairarapa's first season in the Central Premier League, Central League, the club finished sixth in the league. Victoria University of Wellington Association Football Club (VUWAFC) is an amateur football club based in Wellington, New Zealand. The clubrooms are located beneath the Wellington Cable Car at Kelburn Park, across the road from the Victoria University Kelburn Campus, however, many of the club's home games are played on artificial turf at Boyd Wilson Field. Memorial Park, Lower Hutt
Memorial Park is a venue for football matches in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. It is the home of Petone FC who have been based there since 1961 as well as Capital Football who look after the game for the Wellington Region. The ground was also the training base and home ground for the National Women's team Capital Football who play in New Zealand's highest level domestic competition, the National Women's League. It was the first ground in Wellington to have a fully floodlit training pitch which was established in 1979.
